I don't think the 204 ever came in a widescreen. I think it went from 204 -> 205W.
I seem to recall hearing that the manufacturers are switching over to W format cause there is less waste from cutting the master glass.
So I have three monitors and all my school notes are on powerpoint. How do I open multiple powerpoints at the same time? I can physically open them and have them in the taskbar, but I can't view them on multiple monitors. How do I do that? It works in word just fine.
Got a netgear FWAG114. The firewall and VPN are great for avoiding having to install the college campus spywear to access the network. Expensive though.
PC's are finally up and running after a couple weeks of random DOA parts and software/driver conflicts.
I got in on the deal when newegg was having the 204B's for like 270 each. By the way, the monitors are sweet. The colors do fade weird if you look from crazy angles but in...
My friend just bought a 30" apple. It looks pretty sweet. He also has a the 24" sony crt and a samsung 214T which it seemed to compare nicely to.
If you're worried about the overnight replacement, just go into an apple store and have them open it up and run the monitor. If you got a...
Yea i did that. I put it together on a piece of plywood. Nothing. With two different mobos even. What I dont get is that the mobo is so simple there is nothing to change. The only jumper is the one for clearing the cmos. I tried booting in both positions. It makes absolutely no sense...
I just put together a system with it and an E6300. I spent a week trying to get it to post. No luck so I took it into frys.
Two separate boards and the same result. Hook everything up, press power, and nothing. Im sure it will work well once it gets fixed.
Oh yea, the 16x slots are...
@ PCMUSIC guy
Im using 2 mushkin 1GB sticks DDR2 667 I have no case speaker on the antec p180... go figure.
@jcll2002
Tried that after I looked it up. It spins up the molex fans just fine.
Thanks for the help so far guys. When I get back from the gym, Im gonna fully assemble...
How do I short the PSU? I've been shorting the pins on the front panel connector just like the case switch does. I think its something Im doing wrong because I went to frys and picked up and extra board and new power supply to use.
EDIT: When shorting 14 and 15 the fans come on, so the...
For some reason this board is giving me hell. I can't get it to power up. I've tried two boards with two power supplies. Right now I have the board just connected to a power supply, and I was trying to get it to start to see if the fans would spin up. Nothing.
I hooked up the board to the...
Just built my new computer. The problem is its not posting. I pulled everything out and just installed the graphics card, proc, and one stick of ram. Can't get anything. Any ideas?
Is it possible to run the mobo without the processor and ram to see if its the motherobard?
Here are my...
The breakout box is about 300$. For that price you could buy two 7600's. The only thing I can think of is that some software won't run multimonitor natively, but by using this the computer thinks its one monitor.
There is really no price difference between 17 and 19 so go for the 19. I would avoid widescreen monitors though.
Wait, do you have the tripple head graphics card with 3 dvi or the little breakout box with 3 vga? If you have the dvi, I would suggest you move up to 20" so you can get...
Male
1600x1200 4:3
The aspect really doesn't matter to me much. The important thing is the total amount of pixels. 1680x1050 has less screen real estate. Would prefer 1920x1200, but the 2x price premium isnt worth it.
Currently using 4 20" moniters for 6400x1200 in the shape of a T.
I bought an ECS/Athlon combo from fry's 2 years ago, and it has ran rock solid 24/7 as a music jukebox since then. I don't think I would trust it with OC'ing, but then again I'm not really into that anyway. For basic stuff it seems ok. Just ordered their new 965. I think they're great if you...
I just ordered parts for a comp tonight... An ECS 965, E6300, two leadteck 7300's, and 4 samsung 204B's. Will see what happens when they all arrive. If only MB makers put out boards with more 16x slots.....
Any ideas what the street price is going to be on the 305T? Im about to bite the bullet on a apple 30 since its only 1800 with student discount. Ill wait though if the 305T will be better.
With the education discount the apple 30's are going for 1800.... and they look nicer....hmm
WTH does dell have to be so weird with their prices?
Edit: Was checking out the education section for prices. Dell wants 2,177. Hahahaha
Gonna hit 4 as soon as my financial aid comes in. Ive been reading up on it. It does have its problems. The viewing angle is really tight so you have to sit at or above the sweet spot. Also, the brightness is kinda weak and the colors or somewhat washed out. Im not using it for games...
No it wont matter. The only reason it messes up CRT's is that the tube uses magnetic fields to guide the electrons to their respective pixel. Even then the damage isnt permanant to a CRT. It will just screw with your picture.
For the price of a 24" you could go tripple screen and remove the bar from the middle. Actually I wish I could go tripple 20" and then one 24 sitting above or below for games/movies. Dreaming....
the westinghouse 37 is 1920x1080. BTW, the resolution and image size have nothing to do with each other, but windows hard codes the characters per pixel instead of using vectored graphics so you cant size anything. Maybe try switching OS's?
Got a SD630... pretty freakin sweet. The 3" LCD is awesome. Don't know much about cameras myself, but my roomate who uses DSLR's thinks it's an awesome pocket camera.
Ah well, nevermind then. I figured all of the PCIE slots were usable and I could just dial them all down to 8x. Oh well. The idea for it was that I was going to get a dell 3007, but then I realized at that price I could just get 6 20" monitors for about the same price, hence the three cards...
I'm going to run 3 graphics cards on the eVGA mATX board and hopefully the new LianLi case when it comes out. Does anyone know of which graphics cards have low enough heatsinks so that I can stack them one slot after the other, preferably the 6800 or 7600 or in that range of speeds? I was...
Your 4200 will be fine if you keep the AA and such low or off. I have a 4 year old dell laptop with the the mobile version of that card and a 1600x1200 screen. I can run battlefield vietnam fine, although on low or medium settings only.
What were the conditioins they put in place?
It would be interesting if someone could run a fully loaded system ( high end proc, sli, 3-4 raptors, 4gb ram, 2 roms) in all of the sff cases and see which stock case keeps the system the coolest. It seems like all the typical sff cases can...
No. I meant 3 5.25 bays in the sense that the cut outs are there. If they still kept the HDD rack behind it you could put in the drive and use the 5.25 cutout for something.. a rhoebus, an lcd, a whatever... Oh well I'll probably just mod it.
I think I'm gonna go with this shortly. Would have taken the qmicra, but 400$?!?! (Where is that cost coming from? Small volume manufacturing? I could get a top of the line full tower case for that much!)
Probably gonna go with the black. Do you guys know if the metal behind the grate...
