i have an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium and it's working great with my X2 3800+ had no problems so far, and it's a great mobo

i wouldn't say "heck no" that 4mW is strong... but.. it's not as strong as say a true 5mW or anything higher than that. if you're just starpointing, then a 4mW should have a beam visible enough for you to be able to starpoint. I know my 5mW is good enough for starpointing.
