GLSL: ~255 object max
DX9: ~500 object max
DX10: limitless object max + geometry shader
Not only that, but DX10 is very sensitive about hardware support. You either do or you don't, unlike DX9 and especially unlike GLSL.
p.s. I have nvidia cards, I am sure you read up enough about GL2 to...
rofl... you think googlefight is hostile? I thought is was fucking hilarious...
So anyway, can you tell me why a game developer should/would/will choose opengl2.0 over DirectX10? I know what GLSL is... so spare me the nitty gritty-- get to the juicy stuff.
Maybe you already forgot what you have previously posted.
And later, you said this:
Long story short: Yes I agree with you; but do you agree with you, that is the real question here.... Please direct all future responses to yourself and you may get back to yourself shortly. Have I finally...
I don't buy everything up and ask questions later, so maybe you will not like what I have to say.
Microsoft has released two consols in less than a single consol's lifetime. I don't even upgrade my PC that often. The 360 very well may be the best bang for you buck (highly moot, but just to...
The only difference between your article and all other INQ articles is that you posted it. The fact that INQ got a new lead from MaxPC is beside the fact-- leads do not grow on trees and thus must come from somewhere.
Now if you would kindly explain to everyone why you should not be...
Remind me again... as to what makes you so righteous that you can qualify your claim (that I spread fud) with the INQ. And what exactly is so glorious about your disclaimer that it can be raised above "admitting it is based on a notoriously bad source," one that you go as far to suggest that you...
There is a switch on the PSU with a circle and a line on it. Flip it and you are good to go.
Same thing happened to me, but I flipped the switch!
edit: don't flip the voltage switch, just the close switch.
Is a Ti4200 even SM2.0? I would venture to guess that you are getting <30 fps and it looks like uber shit. Like I said, *kill*.
I have an AMD X2 4200 (2400mhz) and 2x 7800gt in SLI (440/1.04). I run it at 1280x1024 and get performance on par with Oblivion. That is kill.

Ontopic(? honestly, who can fucking tell with people like this): 120mm fan is really the way to go. Something strong and quiet--
I think an AGP board will suffice for now.
I wouldn't mess around with dual boards.
If PCI-E was that important to you, you would sell your AGP card and get whatever PCI-E you can afford for now.
Maybe physoace answered this question under my post, or maybe he is just ranting of irrelevant details about 120mm fans (When hardware radiates heat off of itself, ambient temperatures increase as a sign that heat is being transferred to a fluid correctly. Removal of the ambient heat is a...
Well at least some people use more than a disclaimer when they know they are wrong:
Yup, and HLS is better integrated with DX (GLSL is, what I belive, what you were talking about eariler... nice for ATI, bad for Nvidia [not good for a stardard]).
Sorry ivzk, your attempt to use the INQ is nothing more than counter-intuitive. ROFL, someone linking to the INQ claims that *I* spread FUD!?!?
It doesn't surprise me that the INQ doesn't have a solid lead-- these are sensitive times during which a standard is being worked out.
With...
A PPU does not do it at higher frames per second. You, like so many others, are mistaking its job for a GPU.
physics are like walls? Tired genres?
So you are saying RPGs, FPS, MMOs, Strategy, Puzzle, Platform, Arcade genres are tired of physics? That makes absolutly no sense whatsoever.
The...
This is a PPU forum. You have nothing to say about PPUs. Why are you even here?
This is not a soap opra, if you don't like someone, go cry somewhere else other than the PPU forum. You should also try the ignore list, like how I am about to use it on you.
OnTopic: Crysis has been in...
ATi says a X1600 will perform as fast as Ageia in crossfire mode. So any GPU physics user (oxymoron?) with any common sense could reason that crossfire would be needed. Besides, how well do you think a single X1600 will perform on not only today's games, but future games? "remains to be seen,"...
And I am sure when ATi/Nvidia/Havok finally figure that one out, what they call "A discovery to be made," they will finally tell you, mr. all ears.
You can bet on it being the compatibility of DX10 cards with DX9 cards in Sli/crossfire.
You can also bet on it being the memory...
I don't know what is worse, the kids making the DX10 posts, or the kids making the DX10 complaint posts. Both are equally as annoying.
Does it suprise me that 99% of the DX10 complaint posts are from peeps with low-end hardware? Not at all....
I wouldn't make a decision based on what you get from that chart....
As you can see from above posts, they are very misleading.
Sure it can help, but I would personally go by benchmarks of games you play.
