Wow...thank you all for such quick and detailed replies!
I have done some reading in regards to PCI 2.0 x8 vs x16 and figured the 4% increase isn't worth the extra money for a x38 and especially a x48. I will be going with the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3. It has great reviews and overclocking...
I was recently given a VisionTek ATI Radeon 4850 video card by my friend (recipient of his upgrade hand-me downs). Since the card was given to me I figured it was the push I needed to finally upgrade my old system. I am planning on reusing as many components from my old system as possible. My...
I am running a E6300 w/this board and it has worked flawlessly for me! The $241 i spent to upgrade was all worth it for me since I got to keep my 6800GT and 2GB of DDR400.
My friend had this happen to him. The fix for him was the following:
Bios had Raid enabled by default for Sata. Once he disabled it everything booted just fine.
I just returned my Gateway. I recieved a Dec 2006 (OSD GA 4.2). I have no dead pixels and the backlight display is a ton better. I am glad I didn't simply settle for the original!
New Dec 06 model:
Pic was taken as soon as I turned it on. No warm up time at all...
I don't think so... I am in the US Air Force and bought a 4:3 Hitachi 51" Multi-system Ultravision HDTV in 2003. Its almost 2007 and I enjoy my HD package via Time warner just fine.
My screen is 4:3 so I watch most HDTV broadcasts just like I do my DVD's. With black bars on top/bottom...

Ahh... well the mic on the 5H v2's tucks away when not in use. Also, it comes with a USB sound card but you don't have to use it. I myself plug them directly into my Audigy 2 ZS. (saving for a X-Fi Gamer card).
I had the Steelsound 5H v1's and liekd them. The Steelsound 5h v2's improve in every area that came up short in the v1's.
They are also only $48.99 after a $30 mail in rebate at Amazon. Here is the link: 5H v2

I am looking to buy a nice quality headset. I would like a headset over regular headphones as I am always in Ventrillo when I am at my computer. Also, I dont like how most standard mics pic up background noise.
I also will be using these for gaming in addition to Vent. I can usually be...
I bought the 21" Gateway when it first came out. I returned it 3 times with no hassle from the Gateway Customer Support.
The reason I returned it was not for the "buzzing" sound you have but some bad back light bleed (x pattern).
Turned out 4th monitor was a charm for me. No back...

I guess I have been fortunate in the fact that I have had nothing but good experiences with Gateway Tech Support.
My first monitor had dead pixels in the middle of the screen but perfect black levels. The replacement they sent had no dead pixels but horrible backlight bleeding. My third...
Sometimes retailers use different names for the same product to distinguish between US and worldwide models.
I learned this as I was stationed overseas for 5 years and would buy products that were the same "make" as US models but had slightly different product numbers.
Also, I finally...
