I had a nightmare install, I had 4 installers out due to being in an area that had been bought by Comcast. I told them I wanted to be compensated since the first 3 installers could literally do nothing, and instead of being compensated with money I asked them to replace my old SB5100 modem with...
Purified water which makes up your Dasani and Aquafina is tap water that has been subjected to a process of purification. Usually this entails carbon towers to strip chlorine, reverse osmosis filters, UV lights, micron filters, and ozone injection. This process strips so much out that minerals...
First off a disclaimer. I do work for the bottled water industry. I am not a planted insider either as you can see I have been a member of the forums for some time but don't post as often as I should. I am first and foremost a GEEK at heart :) I also worked in the Soda business for 3 years...
That is actually a fresh idea that I don't remember ever bringing up. Nice.
Speaking from experience, my area didn't have broadband until we used Chapter 30 Act 183 legislation here in PA to force Verizon to deploy it. This is the Bonafide retail request legislation, basically you need 50...
How exactly does symmetrical service help an "avid downloader"? It would certainly help and avid uploader.
It is too bad that Fios only serves such a tiny part of the population and that some people will never see the service due to the area they live in being regarded as not being...
I agree. SLI is only for people in the following two categories:
1. Those that own CRT monitors who are able to run at huge resolutions.
2. Those that Benchmark more than they play games.
With anything less than a 20" LCD monitor SLI is a complete waste of money, a 7800 GTX can play...
This may be the best advice in here. I was bitten by the "early adopter" bug when SLI came out and it won't happen again. With only one crossfire MoBo available, I would steer clear until the solution has matured just a little bit at least ;)
The original nForce 4 SLI boards were FULL of problems. I had one of the 1st Asus A8N SLI Deluxe boards and after 8 bios releases in the first 2 months I gave up on it. I remember if you so much as sneezed wrong you wouldn't have any video signal. It also required a CMOS clear any time it...
I have now used two ATI 200 Express boards in systems and both have been plagued with problems of some sort. The first was MSI's 939 Micro ATX offering which worked great until I attempted to pair it with an nVidia graphics card, then total game instability came into play similar to what Kyle...
Holy Heatsinks Batman!!! LOL
I am going to miss my Tsunami, I am out of room with a DangerDen H2O system in their now and finally ordered the U2-UFO from Mountian Mods. The Tsunami is really a great case for the money. *sniff sniff*
My only gripes were it isn't easy to hide the cables...
I have the same case for my LAN system. An Enermax 535W SLI power supply fits with a Sony DVD/CD-R drive. It is tight but works. I couldn't fit an Antec 550 True Power in there, the back plate didn't match up and it was too wide.
This may be my problem, I originally had an X850 XT in mine and it ran flawlessly. I put in the 6800 GT when I decided that I wanted the ATI card in my main system. Eventually the 850 will end up back in this board once the X1800 XT arrives.
I happen to have one of these boards in question at home in an Aspire X Pack case with a 6800 GT in it. It ran flawlessly until Saturday when I fired up Battlefield 2 and got nothing but studdering. The memory timings are screwed up, and have been for awhile. You can set the CAS latency but...
Yeah, it is mainstream.
Whatever happened to SLI needing a heavy duty Processor to avoid a CPU bottleneck? I am just curious since it is pretty much assumed that AMD rules the roost in gaming but there are Intel SLI boards. What is the performance hit in an SLI rig with an Intel CPU, does...
Those 7800 GTXs might have something to do with that :)
I might go back if I ever plunk down the money for the Dell 24" widescreen. Who knows, I am too addicted to ever stop evolving my system ;)
I was an early adopter when SLI came out and ditched my 9800XT in favor of 2 6800 GTs with an Asus AN8 SLI Deluxe. It was a nightmare out of the gate, the board had like 8 bios releases in the 1st 2 months and I finally ditched it in favor of a DFI SLI-DR.
I have now ditched the SLI setup...
