I dislike EVGA also, I've had annoying experiences with them and do not wish to buy anymore of their products.

They also make them look quite familiar to junk mail in hopes that you will "accidentally" throw it away and not get their money. Rebates make me very angry.

I got my replacement back from EVGA and have never opened it, its a new retail 8800GT in the plastic and I have no need for it because by the time EVGA sent my replacement I had already bought a 8800GTX. $220 shipped, paypal preferred PM me with any questions.

You wont see a huge difference, but there is one, and your psu isnt even remotely to its limits.

I found 5 just browsing, 600w models also. The fan makes a low groan/hum type noise. Its not terribly loud but it rattles your concentration if that makes sense. It gets very loud when under load of course, which its designed to spin with load but when idle its just too annoying to put up...

My 8800GTX is silent compared to these psu's haha. The most annoying part is the sound is much louder at different angles if that makes sense, you can move around and one angle its not quite as loud and another angle its very annoying and pronounced. I dont have patience to RMA again after two...

Yes the rig in the sig, and I've already had a replacement im on my second one and its the same annoying noise. Seems odd to get two in a row new in the plastic. I am returning it to the store for a refund.

I must have just gotten horrible luck or they changed fans, because its very annoyingly loud I am returning it. Its this low wooooo noise and makes you go nuts. Ive never heard 120mm fans that are so loud. I'll most likely be getting a Corsair unit.

It doesnt need to be sleeved at all, this one is what comes with almost all new video cards that require a connector. You have to use both molex, and yes it 100% sure will work.

With digital its not really an issue of what brand cable, the quality isn't an issue like it is with analog. You only get into problems if the cable is too long, either one of those will work fine.

errr your speaking about the 3870 which the OP did not ask about. If you compare the options he requested at stock speeds its the 8800GTS. I'm not saying you cant overclock the 3850 to match or beat it either. In some cases the 3850 is slightly faster too, its quite close...
