The Seagate drives I got from BB were 32mb versions and .11. There is a 16mb 1T Seagate drive in the 7200.11 product mix; but they are not the ones in this sale. Just look at the BB ad and do a google search of the Seagate part number and it will telly you what this drive is.

Given the high expectations and testing you have done with LCD monitors are there any that you have been totally stisfied with? Is the CRT still king?

I would avoid Screwegg for LCD purchases. There are return policy on LCD's is not very good and almost forces you to deal with the manufacturer if you have a problem. Find someone local so that you can insure yourself a proper return for a problematic display.

Your wait may be over soon. In January Samsung stated they were hoping to release in Q3/Q4 their 30 inch LED display piece called the x30. The prototype was very impressive as was the proposed price ($4500US). I am not sure where they are at right now with the model.

Actually Sony showed at NAB a 10bit, LED backlite LCD display aimed at replacing the venerable BVM series of CRT monitors. It was quite impressive. I do not recal about 120hz. Price - $25,000.

The new NEC 2690 has this buzzing problem also. Some claim to have successfully returned their monitors as defective because of this. The buzzing is being attributed to a poor spec for the power supply. Both the Dell and NEC products are in excess of $1500 and should not have these problems.

Great point. Canon has minimal distribution through the Audio/Video Retailer distribution channel and no reputation in the cut throat display market. I wouldn't be surprised to see Toshiba pop back into the picture at some point to deal with exactly these distrubtion and name recognition issues.
