Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Not really , depends on the use case , we have 10 Lenovo SR930 V3 (8U) servers with 8 Proccessors and 16TB of ram each for SAP HANA DBs , you cant have a 6TB DB for example fit a 4TB server
the CPUs btw barely do anything load wise , its mostly a requirement to address so so much RAM
Fine by me , this will keep my 4090 relevant for event longer since noone would be able to afford next gen card if they even make them , pc/gaming market is heading in a dark direction
Lets be honest , Broadcom called all the SMBs bluff , no one is really leaving , also they fixed the license model a bit.
We did a POC with Nutanix , even for the more remote sites its just not on par with VMWare and was not worth the hassle.
Right now , we are busy planing for VCF 9 , gonna be...
Anyone thats been around long enough knows how much of a hassle home media centers used to be before plex
the ease of use , the ton of features , the ridiculously easy building of movie/tv libraries , its next level.
not sure i`d pay current price of lifetime , but these guys deserve the support
I bought the stock Corsair cable that connects to the PSU , its not braided ,not a looker , but each wire is separate going in the connector . my 4090 will never do 600W so cant tell really what it meets or doesn't.
this one:
Corsair 600W PCIe 5.0 12V-2x6 Type-4 PSU Power Cable
They have almost no interest in private customers , enterprise/smb is where the money is at.
My company pays a ton of money just so a consultant will take all the raw usage data to make sure we purchase the proper amount of license, i'm not even talking about the actual payment to Microsoft .
Great i totally feel the lack of CPU power when i use whatsapp or gallery app or whatever.
can we get some news like 'New chipsets uses 50% less energy for same performance as previous gen' ?
Lenovo is getting a lot of big orders from what i hear, My company is putting big money with Lenovo hardware , just last month we put an order for 9 sr950 v3 8u (8 intel cpus and 12TB ram) , they are also taking a lot of business from IBM mainframes/power system
It's not an issue , my sfx 750W psu runs my 4090 fine even with OC , and there are 1000W sfx ones as well
maybe for intel platform it could be a bigger issue.
I was at an event and a Microsoft dev was doing a presentation on Office 365 with AI , like making a whole powerpoint presentation by just writing a few lines of prompt .
I wouldn't use it probably , but it was pretty neat feature.
Literally patched 3 vcenters today because of some vulnerability , this is wild , like every other week they find something or one of our infra systems.
We are a huge corporation with factories etc. cant installs fresh releases so often , sometimes all it does is introduce new issues
I`m really starting to hate Broadcom , they're giving me such a headache with the vmware transition , especially with EUC split to another company.
Just last year all the reps tried to convince us to more more stuff to the vmware cloud , now they tell us they are basically shutting it down.
good...
4090 is BY FAR the most expensive card i've owned, real crazy.
but ,anything less than a 4090 for me at this point is peasant territory.
like, if you`re not playing cyberpunk 2077 @4K ultra 70-90fps are you even playing it? (kidding but you get my point)
so anyways, for 30-40% more...
350$ for 18H shifts and 24/7 availability for a skilled worker? do people actually agree to this? i it was China or India , ok i guess , but for an expensive country like Japan ? crazy.
Just checked my last run (from 6/23) against what OP posted , good to know i`m pretty much on par with what others are getting
Overall - 28795
GPU - 36427
https://www.3dmark.com/spy/39018407
I actually noticed it , was watching some video and the whole browser window felt slow to a crawl . thought maybe a memory leak so i just restart , did help
real sad tactic youtube, real sad
Really anyone surprised ? this is the exact same story as as other GPU since 20 series.
either buy after launch or wait for next gen , anything else paying scalper prices or buying older gen.
So you are implying 4090 is good value? my wallet begs to differ.
I`d agree its the only GPU that makes some sense , but that just NVidia upselling us by making the others so poorly valued
I`m waiting for benchmarks to be sure, but i was planning on a 3D Cache zen 4 for quite some time , 7800X3D looks like my next CPU (currently running a 5800X which i will hand down to my kid )
We used to get montherboards without on board sound, lan, raid
What would a normal user need to add beside GPU?
at most more advanced users will add a raid controller or 10gbit lan maybe for specific uses.
audiophiles would prefer usb DAC anyways , and SLI is dead .
one extra slot is max i might...
