it shouldn't stretch as long as you set it up properly. You'll need to rename an HDMI source on it to PC, I don't remember the exact reasoning behind this but I think it disables some post processing features allowing it to display perfectly.
I have not found this to be true. I have an AM2 machine that I built this year, had all the right drivers and such for Vista. I gave it a few weeks, needless to say I'm back on XP Pro. It has a while to go if ever for me.

The ports auto-negotiate, which means they choose the appropriate speed.
If one is 10/100 and one is 10/100/1000 they will both run at 100Mbps
From what I've heard Epox is not the greatest
Personally I have the A8N5x and its been an excellent board. I had a problem with the CMOS battery at one point, Asus overnighted me an new board under warranty.
As the other post, you need to ditch the chipset fan and go with the zalman...
I bought me a P180 back in November and a 500w Seasonic PSU. Best combination for my system. All I hear is a whoosh of air and idle at 25C w/ my 4200X2
my vote is for the P180
Well first concern was cooling, second (just my opinion anywa) I'm all for hiding wires and looking very minimal, but there is a part of me that likes to show off what I've got  I'm currently saving up for a good case to I can do some real wire control and such.My current one sucks...
Go with an ASUS A8N5x but make sure you buy the passive cooler if you need something stable to run 24/7 DO NOT go with a budget board, your asking for trouble.
Biostar and Epox are craptacular boards for the most part, get quality parts if you need stability.
I have an A8N5x it came with the crappy asus fan, but I swapped it out with a zalman passive cooler, temps are fine and it was worth buying the zalman, not like it was really much money at all.
I've been running it for about a month now, and I don't feel a reason to go back. All my hardware works, my games work, the computer feels smooth and faster. Even some various software runs in 64bit mode.
No matter what, dual core is really the way to go now, it runs so nice and smoothly. I have x64 running on my desktop with an x2 4200, i wouldnt trade it for anything right now.
Good stuff, btw Asus has an excellent warranty service. My mobo had a flaky bioschip/battery. I called em up got an advanced RMA which is where they will overnight the board to you for a $20 deposit then you send back the old one. No clue if the new one was new or refurb, but it booted right up...
is the fanspeed constant?
could be a bad board. I have the same one and its rock solid
as for another board, i sure hope your not using ddr2 on the a8n5x because its ddr
More specs? Does the fan speed stay at a constant high or does it slow down after a few seconds?
Do you have the monitor hooked up to the right connection?
That sounds odd, I have the latest CCC but disabled the tray and made only what was necessary to start up and be fully functional. ATI maybe takes up 25MB if that. I'm using an x800 XL PCI-E
I've tried the various different software, but MCE just seems to be the most stable/easiest to work with. Minimal configuring and it just works. TeamMediaPortal was nice, but the stability just wasn't there yet.
Going have to second the vote for Toshiba, I have an M45-S265, this thing is a solid beast for the price. The only downside is the Integrated Intel Graphics, but its mainly for school and some websurfing, I have my desktop for the fun and games. The only other laptop I would go for at this...
Is it possible with out over clocking for it to lock up at around 50C?
My seconday monitor will lose its image and the entire machine will lock up?
Sorry if I hijacked
Not to sure if this is video or mobo issue, but for the past day when I have begun to stress my computer even the slightest bit the secondary monitor will shut off and the system will lock up see sig for specs,
just throw in a few bucks and get an Audigy2 ZS, I had the same chipset as the OP, dude there was no comparision it was light night and day when I installed the card.
huh :wtf:
Internet --> Modem --> WRT54G(RJ-45) --> wired/wireless clients
edit: this is how my network is setup, all works fine basically plug and play except for wireless encryption
