Currently looking at this page from eight feet away on a 65 inch Panasonic professional plasma monitor (# TH-65PF11UK). Does that count as big?
It does time as movie screen and gaming monitor as well.
Every case is different. Pun intended. We can debate endlessly based on theories. Do some real world testing. I use the thermal probe on my DMM, a couple small thermometers at key places inside the case. Employ an incense or cigarette to do smoke tests of airflow patterns. May be surprised at...
You are right of course. And as one would expect, the game slows to a crawl in 32-bit with this card.
(edit)
Apparently there is a Max Payne 1 Fix Pack, v1.2023.1 for this but never looked into it.
Soft spot for 3dfx ... me too. At least now I do. Full disclosure. I have owned this card since late year 2000. My friend bought a shiny new HP pavilion with this V4 installed. It would crash soon as a game started. Apparently HP sent them out without proper testing. Glide drivers did not jive...
No argument here. I do have a socket 462 with voodoo4 on Win98 running in the other room right now. So there is that. Plan to enjoy some Max Payne action later.
DDR3 is now retro? At 15 years old I guess maybe so. Still rolling with my Dell T3500 and T5500 systems (see signature). 8GB rDIMM modules for the T5500 are dirt cheap now at $5. So are 6 core Xeon X5690 CPUs. Got a complete second CPU riser for the T5500 for next to nothing a while back. May be...
True. Has shooting elements. Not sure I would call sections flying through swinging flame chains like 3D version of Super Mario light platforming. Not if they are required to advance. Got even worse in the extensions. That said. Arcade mode in Doom 2016 has the most time on my screen since the...
Can honestly say that no new games interest me. Now. If I could get a refund on the Doom Eternal platforming game misrepresented as a shooter, that would be cool.
In my mind these lists are incomplete without the unlocked Athlon t-bred B mentioned. So easy to overclock with a good nForce2 board. To this day I can go into the next room and run my $60 (back then) 1700+ at a 1ghz overclock to above 3200+ speeds with air cooling. A chip that cost nearly $400...
Used my Soltek FRN2 (nForce2) as my main system daily for 13 years. Overclocked the whole time. Still runs in one of my retro gaming systems to this day.
Good to familiarize yourself with the various fasteners involved. Especially the two shown below.
Top is #6-32 UNC threads. Bottom is metric M3. Often mistaken for each other.
Flawless. Ordered a case same time as the phone. Got this Galaxy A23 5G about six months ago at fiddy cents a month for switching to T-mobile. My previous phone was a Galaxy S4 with Verizon that lasted eight years and two battery changes.
Liebert line-interactive UPS here. At one time my home voltage would brown down well below 100 volts.
Not saying anyone here. It surprises me how many trust their high end system to a used power strip. Often bought at yard sale.
PC Gamer was good for that. I bought the October 2000 edition specifically for the disk with Half Life "Dark Star" and "They Hunger" add ons. Ended up buying DeusEx full game after playing the demo here.
Popped the disk in for bit of nostagilia. Forgot about the Voodoo5 animated gif banner ad...
Well that stinks. Did not know the print version was still around to be honest. This thread inspired me to break out my MaxPC december 1998 "Gear of the Year" edition. Fun to see all the two and three page fold out ads for 3dfx, ATI, and Sound Blaster again. The reader's writes complaining about...
Far as overclocking goes. My vote goes to the unlocked 1.5 volt AMD t-bred B 1700s. Easy extra 1.0ghz or more on a 1.4ghz chip with a good nForce2 board. $65 CPU running faster than $350 ones. Twenty years later and same one is running in my Epox board today.
I use Google through Firefox on my desktop/workstation. With script and ad blockers I do not see ads anywhere - YouTube or otherwise. Except places like [H]ard that are whitelisted.
Certainly true. But is it because the port is superior, or legacy and an industry unwilling to compromise on standardization. At least the myraid of phone charger cord designs is dwindling. Sure most of us have seen those pay charger stations with 15 types hanging out the front.
As an aside ... I have always found it interesting how cars still have 70-80 year old tech that is the clunky cigarette lighter port yet have not had an actual lighter in them for near 30 years.
Maybe not popping like 15-20 years ago. [H] member posts are still my go to for tech knowledge devoid of juvenile bickering and posturing. Well, mostly.
Mandatory Olivia.
Me three. I still use Winamp v2.91 to Whip the Llama's ass on my Win10 machines.
As to the subject at hand. I am highly dubious about the ever increasing reliance on AI. Especially in the medical field. Contextual human-centric algorithms or otherwise.
With akimbo (double weapons), more gore, boom death, and decal stay mod set to permanent. That'll really test the card. Would love to see how the V5 6000 handles it next to my V4 4500.
Most of the time I do not like the in game music. Doom 2016 would be an exception. Only time I have purposely sought out a high bit rate copy of the soundtrack.
Older FPS like Q2 and UT, music definitely off. Don't want to miss those foot steps and audio clues when your opponent grabs a power...
Purchased a copy and requested refund after install because it was unplayable as downloaded. My mistake for missing the part below. No thanks. Bad enough we have to deal with Valve/Steam. EA and the other devs that require yet another online account and launcher can go pound sand. :p
For many years, pretty much from year 2000 to 2018 I was using Option contracts to play the two year up / down cycles on INTC. Was almost like clockwork. Things started to change when the corporate tax rate was slashed in 2017 and all those Corporations had more available for stock buy backs. To...
