Ah - Got it....Okay; my goal is to do that! I want it!
I've actually learned a fair bit between this thread and searching around the net. I want to stream 5.1 channel without DTS or DD. Can I do it with TOSLINK? No. I CAN do it with HDMI though.
However, if I use HDMI, does it mean I have to...
So.....konfusing...... :\
Okay, so as I understand....
Right now, because my sound card encodes in 5.1 DTS / DD, I can get 5.1 sound over my TOSLINK connection (albeit, there's a slight delay in encoding time). If I go HDMI, I most likely lose the DTS / DD encoding, but I gain the capability...
Yeah, I think that's almost a last resort for me right now - I'm looking at some specs of my video card, and it seems like the maximum supported resolution on the GTX Titan is 1080p. I think I'm stuck with my sound card for now.. :(
Thanks everyone for your awesome input!
I'm actually not sure what HDMI standard the Onkyo I have supports - It does "do 3D", which I'm told basically means it is 1.4 compliant.
I'm actually interested in what H-street is saying though, in where the maximum resolution for 1 HDMI link is 1080p...
Hi guys,
I have a question for you A/V gurus out there - I have a gaming PC that I am using with a Dell Monitor that runs at a native resolution of 2560x1440. I have two nVidia GTX Titans for my GPUs, and up until now have this old Sound Blaster Titanium HD in the box to do DTS/DD decoding...
Kyle,
After reading the review of this processor - Great job as usual, by the way - and looking at the $1,000 price tag, it got me thinking - Has there ever been a comparison of the extreme processors across the generations? What I'm actually interested in, is if I bought an extreme processor...
Joe, when you bought the BIOS chip off of ebay, did it come out of another Z77E-ITX or did it specify that it is pre-programmed for the particular board? The reason I mention this is, if you just bought a chip from some guy; that chip may be blank, and will be pretty much as useful(less) to you...
Much like this comment;)
I think what the OP is asking is, if a failed BIOS update would damage his motherboard permanently beyond the actual BIOS chip. It's obviously useless already, and that's why he went out and purchased another chip. Because the new chip is also not working, he is...
I really, REALLY appreciated the fact that you followed the tests to the end as best you even though you knew from first inspection that it was a steaming pile of crap. I honestly didn't want to read it, but couldn't look away...Sort of like the first few episodes of American Idol every season...
Hey guys,
I'm on the fence between the Dell and the HP as well...I have a question regarding the scaler that's in the Dell - I've heard in a few forums that the scaler causes the Dell to have a bit more input lag. Does this also apply to the Dell if I'm playing in native resolution?
Also, on...
Well, I don't mind paying a bit more for those SSDs if they actually do what they're going to say. The last I heard of the technology, they were saying something about its shorter lifespan. That really got me worried...Have they improved on the SSD technology's mean time between failure?

I was shopping around for a new laptop, and currently own a Dell Latitude D620, and thought that it would be nice to go for something more portable. I knew the new E-Series laptops from Dell were coming down the pipe soon, so after a few months of waiting, they arrive today...
You should pick me because I have two 24" and a 30" dell monitor to compare it to. I also do a lot of gaming on top of the every day office applications.
Dead pixels drive me nuts...
Bad image quality is the devil!!!

I think I'm might wait a bit longer - I just saw images of Dell's new line of Latitude units (E6400 in particular), and they look like they might have some nice features...

Hey, I just picked up a 3007WFP a week ago - I got it actually for $1599 CDN on a Dell Deals day. The backlight is a non-issue...I actually haven't really noticed, or looked at it that closely...the colours are very bright, but not piercing. I am really enjoying my purchase, but then again, I...
I have both the 24" and the 30" monitors from dell.
24" seems to have more vibrant colours (default), but the 30" is DEFINATELY softer on the eyes...The pixel pitch is a bit tighter on the 30" as well, or so it seems.
Desktop clarity is really good and on par with what I'm expecting from a...
I'm glad that the forum members here go out of their way to try and help fellow members; unlike other forums, where they go out of their way using sarcastic rhetoric to be condescending and not helpful whatsoever. ;)
I am asking because I would like to know - plain and simple. I don't want...
Hey guys - My 30" 3007WFP is on the way - I'm going to be running on my nVidia 7800GTX, but I'm trying to find out which DVI connector on the card is the Dual Link compatible one. Is it the one that is closer to the MB?
Thanks in advance!
