I have one in great condition but I agree with the sentiment that $47 is a little too low to expect to pay.

13.1 with KDE. I like XFCE as well but use a few of the KDE apps so thought "hey why not". Once I have it all configured how I like it, they are within a couple hundred megs of each other anyway. Yeah SUSE is pretty solid and BTRFS Snapshots are nice. I run Arch on my laptop with the same setup.

A note about the Keycool. I ordered one (Kc84) from MK and promptly returned it. The quality of the keys was very poor and it had a loose switch. I tend to avoid them now. Edit: I should have said that the keys were backlit. I've read good things about their PBT keys.

Also look for Huion on Amazon. They are very similar to the Monoprice but I like the pen a bit more. They are usually sold under the Tursion or Turcom brand but they are Huion.

8GB of GDDR5 is pretty impressive. You're right 'face2palm', the rumours said it would be 4GB but perhaps they were matching the Xbox's purported 8GB.

Should be decent for Zbrush and general sketching. Try out Sketchbook Pro, it's made for stylus only use.

I haven't used the larger ones but I can tell you one thing, 3d apps dont like low res screens.

I tried out a 12" cintiq and hated it. You can't mirror the screen so you essentially have to have the 3d app on a low res minuscule screen with your hand in front of it. In my opinion its either one of the larger digitizer screens or the separate digitizer. Portable tablets are interesting...

Some bold predictions in the opening post. I don't think it will be that easy. It seems as though the 3 companies (perhaps 5 if you include Qualcomm and Samsung) are all converging on a similar point of performance. ARMv8 based Tegra and Exynos are likely to compete at this level as well.

I run my 3930k @4.5Ghz for everyday use and people here run em higher. What you mentioned is already surpassed. As for IB-E well whenever the enthusiast version comes out, likely 8 or 10 core if the XEON base is 12, just a moderate overclock will put it most of the way to what you want.
