Through trial and error I found a flash drive that always works and it's the oldest one I own with a one gigabyte capacity. I don't think you can buy them anymore but it has never failed to flash a bios using flashback where as many newer flash drives have.
https://github.com/mbucchia/Pimax-OpenXR is as close as it gets with Pimax headsets at this point. The dev that created/maintains is really cool and even pops on to open mr forum occasionally to help folks that are struggling to get it functional. Performance is quite good using it on MSFS and DCS.
Yea that sounds about right but that's the attitude of most pioneers in any field of endeavor and perhaps why I like their products and continue to enjoy their efforts even when some think it's a fault. I've witnessed many instances in life where folks have said "it can't be done" and someone...
Maybe they decided that there is no currently available gpu that can run at 12K resolution with acceptable refresh rates to power the 12K yet so bolster sales with what people actually wanted to begin with like respectable clarity ,resolution , decent frame rates without the excess expense of...
When I had the occulus rift s google earth vr was awesome. Could fly like superdude around the planet in 3d and drop down to street view in small villages in the Alps to see the villages. Found a few valleys like that I'd like to visit one day before I kick off.
There seems to be some debate about this as a matter of Altitude condition. Which do prefer for low altitude non commercial flight environmental quality as I haven't tried it yet?
Finally got my hands on an 8KX that works with AMD gpu's and the 7900XTX runs it with no problems at it's native resolution using only 275 watts at 72 Hz. I can run it at 90Hz but that pushes it up to 340 watts and I don't like the heat output during summer heat so it's perfect there for now.
Rumor has it Pimax will be releasing two new versions of the Pimax crystal and both versions will be PCVR only. These versions will be minus the battery and the stand alone VR hardware meaning much less weight/mass. The headsets will be released in Q2 and Q4 with the Q4 version sporting micro...
Pimax rumored to be releasing a cut down version of the crystal in Q4 this year. The headset will be strictly PCVR with no battery or stand alone hardware and oh yea 4K micro oled panels.
To determine what screws you need take one screw that fits but is too short and find the nut that fits it perfectly in the machine screw nut bin at the hardware store or wherever you decide to buy them. That way you'll know the thread pitch and diameter. Then find the correct length in the bin...
Ace hardware carries one of the best assortments of odd ball bolts and screws. Whenever I need shorter/longer screws for an off the wall project they are my one stop supplier.
This thread reminded me of an incident several years ago at PDX lan. So day two of PDX lan a friend of mine asks me to look at his buddies pc because it just shutdown and now only powers on for a couple seconds before shutting down again. I go over to where his setup is and tell him go ahead and...
That memory kit is the best memory I've found so far stability wise on several AM5 boards I've tested. Really just plug and play after setting xmp. When I bought it was advertised as Intel xmp ready.🙄
I grabbed one of those I fixit kits a couple years ago and have no regrets whatsoever. Some of the bit tips I don't recognize and have never encountered but when I finally do I'll be good.
The file I pointed to doesn't require rufus to make bootable. I believe it simply requires that you extract it to a folder and click on the image usb and point it to the root of the desired flashdrive.
The hellhound gre I tested had a power target of 290 watts and very easily managed temps quietly. I didn't have time for testing it ocing wise but I'm sure it's fairly modest clocks (~2350mhz) could have made near 2500 or more but efficiency of this gen goes out the window quickly when pushing...
Create a bootable flash drive with memtest on it here. Enter bios select usb flash drive as first boot device and run it overnight with 2 memory modules at a time to narrow down the faulting modules. Once the faulting pair is found run one at a time to find the faulty module. The process of...
Check event viewer for usb/network controller hub issues. What is the board make and model? Almost sounds like a coupling capacitor has degraded and might be causing signal phasing shift or shunting the signals completely. Either way event viewer should be logging the fault.
You could set XMP and change the mem speed and the boot order to a bootable flash drive with memtest to investigate whether the board reverts to the actual XMP settings on the spd chip. That would show if it's a bios bug at least so it could be reported to the vendor for correction. Crap never...
Yea HUB was shittin on the 7900GRE as well disregarding it punching the 4070 in the face most of the time. Seems Steve is starting to swing over to the RT hype train.
Had an opportunity to test a 7900gre last weekend and the reviews online do no justice for it's price/performance ratio IMO. The hellhound gre regularly ran 2600 Mhz on DX11 titles and maintained max boost clocks on DX12 titles with much better performance than I expected. The 288 watt power...
Yea so turns out it wasn't the power supply at all but the evga nu sound card was conflicting or something to do with the pci-e bus. The sound card was never in the test bench with the gpu and when the gpu was transferred to the htpc that's when the trouble started. The audible click was the...
