I highly doubt such a license is legally binding, especially considering there is not even a basic clickwrap agreement presented when you run a game. I've never agreed to such a license or clicked any buttons that would enter me into a contract when playing a PS2 game.
Eh, I don't think he was promoting piracy. I have been playing PS1 and PS2 games on emulators for years, even prior to getting a PS3. Always from disk. I have had 2 BC PS3's and they both ended up getting YLOD and are no longer repairable so I'm back to using emulators for PS2 and PS1 games. PS3...
Do you also run your virtual machines from SSD? I suspect moving your virtual machines to solid state storage will have a bigger impact than upgrading your processor.
I was seriously interested in the Nano when I heard about it until I saw the price. I guess I'll keep rocking the 7870 XT for a while longer. The Nano was in the right TDP range, approaching enough % increase in performance and being smaller would help a bit in my current build. The 7870 XT gets...
To those of you that have Dark Souls already and have played a significant amount: How is the PC version. I've heard rumors of bad things, but am not sure if these were because early versions were poor and things got fixed or if the PC port just sucks.
My parents started out with a 286 and I used their machines up through the early Pentium era.
Here is my complete list of CPUs I personally owned along with their stock clock speeds. When I acquired video cards is somewhat hazy. I've listed most of them, but I believe there were a few others...
Thanks for the graph. If you didn't include it I was going to find one. Interesting bump at 45-49. Is that when people start to get shitty vision, but have yet to learn to compensate? The curve up at the end of course is your whole body going to shit on you.
Your systems have been being fingerprinted since the XP days. I had to call because I couldn't activate back then after a bunch of hardware changes. After too many hardware changes/reinstalls using the same XP key the servers (5 in a certain time period if I recall)refused to activate if the...
Or you need a year of MSDN. I know MSDN Pro is like $1199 for one year. $749 or $799 to renew or something like that. Is Enterprise worth $1200 to you? You do of course get a bunch of other OS licenses as well and the terms are pretty generous (when the year is up whoever the account was...
I feel fortunate to have an MSDN subscription. Click button. Get key. Install fresh. No nonsense with upgrading, extracting key, then installing fresh.
I think I'll go through the update process as soon as I burn an ISO and write down the key anyways though. I want to know how it works because...
Don't want more old people who can't see or drive well on the road.
I don't want to be driving when I'm old either. I've got my fingers crossed for fully legalized robocars to drive me around before then. The tech will be here at an affordable level soon, it's just a matter of making sure laws...
Excludes handhelds it looks like. Only really interested in Nintendo New 3DS XL as I have PS4 and Wii U. I got my original 3DS XL on a similar deal from target.
Unsure what my price point for New 3DS XL is, but it's definitely less than full price as it only has one exclusive game. It does...
The closer it gets the less excited I'm becoming. Looks doubtful at this point. Sticking with 3570k and updating to windows 10 next week. Recently upgraded an external drive to ssd as external drive transfer speed was my personal highest pain point. Not feeling much pain elsewhere and still feel...
It means they don't want to make a commitment to support it for longer than 10 years at this time. 10 years is a long time and their strategy may change. 10 years is way longer than Apple supports each version of their OS.
No, just no. The newer OS's have plenty of improvements both under the hood and little niceties like updated file copy dialogs. I often find myself attempting to use features by habit available in later OS's when shackled to Windows 7 at work.
This is a pretty good drive. It's been in the $300 or under range for a while now on deals. I bit when I had a 10% off SSDs coupon at newegg and got it for $270 in early April. Prices don't seem to be coming down on it anymore as most places have cleared the stock they had left. If you want one...
Also hoping for some nice ITX boards as I've already got an ITX system and do not want to go to anything larger again. It'd be nice if someone ships one with a Bluetooth card included.
What new motherboard features I can get along with final street pricing on the 6700K will be major factors...
The 6700K is the only processor that really has me interested to upgrade from my 3570K. ~20% higher stock clocks and a slightly larger cache. Not sure if I'm $400-500+ interested though to get a new proc and board. The old setup would replace the board in my MAME cabinet which has an old Athlon...
It's not much though when you think back to what used to happen in a year. Pentium 133 one year..Pentium 200 the next. 50% performance boost via clock increases alone. Similar with Pentium II 300 to Pentium II 450. It wasn't every year that there was a 50% boost, but it was a lot of them.
And...
I'm hoping to get $15 value out of this. Any combination of PSN credit, Nintendo eShop credit, Amazon gift cards.
I don't do much buying/selling online so I have limited heatware history http://heatware.com/eval.php?id=80442
Would also consider Borderlands 2: Game of the Year as part of...
They probably aren't going to upgrade their OS at all as it's fit for purpose and most likely air gapped. As such there's no reason to ship 32 bit Win 10 for that market which is extremely small in any case. People who won't upgrade to 64 bit won't upgrade major OS versions for the exact same...
Comes with a $200 dell promo gift card right now. Had me intrigued enough to look, but chose to stick with my u2711 and the U2715H is only a standard gamut monitor. With UHD using a wider color space and already having a monitor I consider better I can't justify getting a U2715H right now. lag...
I would go with Skylake for the new 100 series motherboard chipsets. Loads more PCI-Express lanes, etc. The processor also gets a few % IPC increase and pricing should be very similar.
Power consumption. I need to fit it in an ITX and keep the overall power down. I currently have a 7870xt and it's a bit much. Ideally I'd only need one PCI-E connector instead of two. I'd like to downsize my power supply to something less than the 400 watts I have currently.
Grabbed a beat the average bundle. Primarily for company of heroes 2. If it's as fun as the first I may pick up Ardennes separately at some future date. As is my backlog is so large that I have 4 pages of keys on humblebundle.com I haven't even bothered redeeming yet so it's hard to justify the...
I feel like they lost an opportunity to make some money here. Pay 10% of the current price to try before you buy. You get a 2 hour play limit and can only do it once per title. If you like it you pay the other 90% to get past the 2 hour play limit lock.
It's not $30 like the 128GB m4, but it's a current generation drive and you get a lot more space to play around in.

Want. Don't need. Sold my 128 for 50 last year as I have limited uses for a drive that small. The only uses I can think of for it is replacing the main drive in the MAME cabinet or as a PS3 drive. But my PS3 is dead and I'm not sure there's enough left I didn't play to get a new one. Uncharted...
I'd toss them. By the time another one dies 1 Tb likely won't be much. You'll have to spend time swapping circuit boards, etc. in the hopes it will work and even then you'll only have a 1tb 3.5" drive. I've been downsizing everything to 2.5 to allow more flexibility in future builds space wise...
At this point all my internal drives are ssd. I'm to the point of wanting to upgrade at least one of my external drives. Can anyone recommend a usb 3 external enclosure that has been tested to provide high performance with ssds?
