Yep, I finally scored the kit I was looking for from Newegg last week.

Newegg restocked Hero boards today. Just ordered one so we'll see if it's fine or not. I assume it will be since I'm sure Newegg returned all of the affected boards within the indicated product/serial number range to ASUS.

I just really love the idea of returning to NYC in Div 2. I missed the snowy NYC vibe in Div 1.

I need to sit down and compare the specs between them. At a glance I'm a fan of the 2 DDR5 DIMM slots. You don't need 4. Aside from that, I don't quite like the aesthetics of it next to the Hero.

So an ASUS tech called me to see if I can contact Newegg and ask for a refund or replacement. After checking with Newegg, it looks like they will accept a return for this despite the purchase being back in November, so I guess that is what I will be doing. ASUS will now need to send the board...

That's a bummer. At least you got a full kitted 12th gen system to use. I'm stuck waiting for DDR5. I do wish all of the ROG Maximus lineup came with the sexy backplate that the Extreme has.

Haha just an hour before I submitted my RMA request. They authorized my RMA within 30m too. Chat support guy said that it should be a new board from a new batch. Said it should be a whole new box and everything too since it will be a new SN. Fingers crossed.

Yep, that sort of coin toss I'm just not interested in. I'll wait for a targeted response to this issue so I can get a solid board from the RMA process. I mean shit, I've already been waiting 4 weeks to find someplace to buy DDR5 from anyway, so what's another month or two? 😄

At best they'll accept it and send you another board with the same defect. That's what I worry about doing an exchange with Newegg too. Better off waiting for an official solution from ASUS.

Yep. Thankfully I haven't used my board yet. It's sitting next to me and sure as shit that capacitor is fitted backwards. I can't even get my hands on the G.Skill kit I want so I'm already fine with waiting to find a solution to this. But it is definitely ridiculous and unacceptable from ASUS...

Been getting real tired of Newegg dangling G.Skill DDR5 kits but only with motherboard combos. Considering I picked up a Maximus Hero board from Newegg a couple weeks ago, this just feels ridiculous.

Ah that makes sense. I was confused as you could have multiple requests out even when in a clan. Just realized that the limits are 1 clan and 10 communities. Thanks for the invite!

Well the weird thing is that it was sitting in my Clan Requests section and had 9 more days before expiring. Fast forward to this morning and the request is gone and I am unable to request to join again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes you do. Read the tooltips on the items. You can definitely mix 4pc Striker's with 2pc Sentry's.

When it comes to the DZ your health and armor should come first. Try and get your max 65% mitigation through armor. Buff your stamina. Then buff your firearms. It's suuuper important to have good survivability.
