You can get it much better looking after you adjust the display some.
Under the "Picture" menu, adjust Saturation/brightness/contrast. I think the Gateway keeps separate picture/color profiles for each input.
You may still have a muddy looking picture-but at least it can have good colors :)
I picked up the FPD2275W. Initially I was disappointed with the backlight bleeding (over an inch on both top and bottom), but after using the display for alittle over 24 hours the bleeding has gone down considerably. Now it's just a small line-perhaps 2-3mm thick- on the top and bottom.
I'm looking for a widescreen display around $400 that has:
A decent resolution for PC
VGA
DVI (Like to have this HDCP-but this option is not NEEDED)
S-video
component video
composite analog inputs
So far the only ones I have found are the FPD2275W and LCM-22w2

I was never able to get Oblivion texture add-ons to work fully, even with the ArchiveInvalidation creator, until I used the BSA Patcher.
I mean, even when I thought all of my replacement textures where working, it turns out they wernt after I tried this. ;)

Sounds like you may be trying to display a rez either the card or the LCD doesn't like
I think the OP already knows this info, but I'll post it for ppl who may not(taken from here) :
So I have one of the 1366x768 flat panels how do I get the best results with it?

Soft. My current mouse pad:

I prefer the slight bit of resistance a soft pad offers. I find it makes flick/twitch shots more accurate.
Then again, I'm one of those freaks that plays with very low sens with mouse accel.... ;)
I've purchased around 200 of these (with case) for work related builds over the last year and a half.
FYI, they have about a 30% failure rate within a years time, although only ONE of those was DOA-all of the others crapped out over months of use. I'm not a fan of Antec Smart Power...
Try lowering the textures to Medium? There seems to be bugs galore with the High texture setting.
The game ran perfect for me on 3 different rigs - retail version, no MP installed.
BTW-is the MP any good? I didn't install because people where saying the SP was bugged with it installed.
The one game that got my goat was Adventure Island for the NES. I never did beat that POS either....

And I more then agree on the muti player frustrations. Nothing pisses me off more in a "round" based game when half of your...
Another vote for Call of Juarez using DoF effectively.
I also thought the effect was used well in Tomb Raider:Legends.
But yeah, the OP is right. Most games that attempt to use DoF effect over do it.
My first play through was with a Stealth style character. Bow shots to the head made very short work of them.
May be my imagination, but there seemed to be 2 types of Zombies-although there was no graphical difference between them. Some zombies took 2 shots to the head to take down...
Just finished the game without cheating. The very last stage was the biggest pain in the ass.
I never really gave the game a chance before this last week. Glad I did, it was very good (and LONG). :)
Grab PBWeb from Punkbusters website. You can update Q3 on your own before you connect to any server-it's also much much faster.
edit:looks like they have a gui based utillity to manualy update now. link:

-Beating Super Contra on Hard without one death
-Beating Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 without one death
-Getting a Quadruple Rail Kill on the final round of a CTFS Clan Match (Quake 3 Threewave). Not really an achievement, just one of those moments :)
I think Catalyst A.I. needs to be set at it's maximum setting for HDR+AA to work.
At least that's how it is for me. (Chuck 6.9 on a X1800XT)
edit: The chuck "patch" drivers are not really a patch, they are a full set of drivers in thier own right. If the above doesn't work for you...
That Enermax keyboard looks pretty, but Aluminum can get damn cold.
I game on a Logitech Ultra. I LOVE it.

THIS is what I'm waiting for from a physics chip. Give me clothes/grass/fire/etc that deform in real time, THEN I will jump on the physics bandwagon.
I remember that QCON 2 years ago the Ageia rep said the 2nd gen of Physics card would be able to do just that.
Quake 3 (I play Threewave CTFS/CCTF afew times a week. Still have fun)
Quake 4
Oblivion (Replaying with 0001.31+many other mods)
Titan Quest
FEAR
That's about it right now. Waiting for Gothic 3 ;)

Issue resolved.
I uninstalled ATITool, and overclocked with the CCC. I used ATI Tray Tools to control my fan speeds. No more hard locks.
I guess ATI Tool doesn't play well with the 6.9 chuck drivers.
I dropped this game on my PS2 harddrive (HD Advance), it shortened the load times significantly.
Great game, I'm only about 5 hours in though. (Counting the hour I spent running around going "Damn, this is pretty!) :p
Overclocking then playing ANY video file results in a system crash.
I can game perfectly fine for hours on end, but in order to play video files I have to set my clocks back to stock-or my system locks up to a black screen.

If you haven't seen this game in motion yet, check it out. Simply stunning.
The game is like Zelda OoT (or just about any Nintendo game for that matter)in that it holds your hand for far far to long, but I'm enjoying it so far.
On the PC side, Oblivion for me. Quarls...

One of the best keyboards I have ever used, comboed with one of the best mice I have ever used for 24.99 shipped. Great Deal!
I own an Audigy 2 and Z5500's. Onboard sounds like a joke compared to the Audigy 2. It's really that big of a change.
To be fair, there was little noticable diff between the Audigy 2 and onboard when I was using lower end speakers (z640's)
US version has no starforce :)
The physics are very arcadish. If your car runs into a lamp post or dumpster it basly slows you down. But, as I get farther along in the game I'm finding out you need to be carfull and try to avoid little pieces of rubble. If you are going fast enough...
