Sapphire wants to replace my X1900XT with a X1950Pro

They responded to me today... They offered a "HD 2900PRO 512MB " I took it; I need to be able to use my workstation again. And the 2900PRO isn't bad, especially when compared to the x1900xt I sent them. I see it as an nice upgrade actually. So in the end I'm happy, but the wait time in...

Sapphire wants to replace my X1900XT with a X1950Pro

I pinged them again yesterday morning since it has been about a week sine our last correspondence. I try communicating once a week; as I don't want to get them on my bad side. Although I'm sure one of them has read these posts and figured out who I am. He said they're getting a shipment in...

Sapphire wants to replace my X1900XT with a X1950Pro

It's going on 4 weeks since I sent the card to them and 3 weeks that they have had (or done whatever) with it. If you read back a bit you can see I asked for a 3850HD. They said "it's not possible"... I'm very annoyed sitting around just waiting now with no time line... Not to be rude...

I know someone will find this amusing... here's my e-mail... in response to them saying they can't give me a HD3850 here's their response ... I'll await someone taking my $$ numbers above and making up a "priceless" joke. I'm only posting this so others can see what dealing with them is...

Sapphire wants to replace my X1900XT with a X1950Pro

I build computers for people every once in awhile. So I ordered a bunch of Sapphire cards at the same time. What sucks for me is this is my workstation I use for work. I only had one X1900XT PCI-E installed in it. I have no other PCI-E cards. The others I ordered we for the other computers...

Sapphire wants to replace my X1900XT with a X1950Pro

Honestly I spent $300 on my card, I also purchased another X1900XTX at the time. They are aware of this I sent them the wrong invoice by accident the 1st time. I was surprised when they said NO to my invoice the 1st time and asked for the invoice with the X1900XT on it. I think that card is...

Sapphire wants to replace my X1900XT with a X1950Pro

Thanks for the tips; I didn't even think about it exhausting inside the case :( So far this is my winner... I don't have a lot of $$; But I can't leave my workstation running on my 1994 ATI mach64 /w 2MB of video ram anymore. I'll give Sapphire/Althon Micro another 1-2 weeks...

Sapphire wants to replace my X1900XT with a X1950Pro

I got the dreaded email... They asked if I wanted a X1950Pro as a replacement. :( I thanked them for the offer and said no and explained it was an inferior card (less piplines/slower GPU). I asked if they could replace it with a X1950XT instead. I just got an email back while I was...

Can you honestly say you would feel comfortable spending your hard earned $$ on a sapphire product knowing this is the kind of treatment you will get if you have problems?

Sapphire wants to replace my X1900XT with a X1950Pro

Stop making blanket statements such as "this shit is done by all companies". Your trying to stick some sensationalism into this thread. The reality is it is NOT done by all companies... I've been building my own PCs since 1992; I work on high end unix servers for a living (SGI, Sun, IBM...

Sapphire wants to replace my X1900XT with a X1950Pro

Well I'm in the same boat... My X1900XT started to distort and have lots of rendering errors. I called and got the RMA started. They told me 2-4 weeks on the phone when I gave them all of my information including the card model #. Then a week after I mailed them my card I asked how...

    Dell’s UltraSharp 2005FPW widescreen 20-inch LCD monitor.

Update: New monitor showed up today. It still has a 2 dead/stuck pixels however you can only see them when the screen is black and you have your face right up to the thing (very dim blue color). Unlike the previous one which i could see red pixels on a white back ground... So I'm 100%...

my 2001FP LCD (dell model) plays video files/DVD's distorted at full screen...

Similar problem happened to me as well on 2005FPW /w 6800GT card. I put the latest beta drivers on and the problem went away as well. I would decribe mind as staggered verticle lines that changed depending on the video. Probably 1.5"'s apart only in the center parts of the video.

hmm, thanks for the info. It was phone call not an e-mail unfortunetly. She gave me a refernce number for the replacement monitor. However it doesn't lookup on dells website. So I'm at a loss. Maybe I'll call them again to be sure it's really being sent.

Possible source of small & inexpensive graphical LCD's

NP, I've done the same thing before. Good luck with your project, I kinda figured you had something else in mind. (overhead projector, custom A/V equipment, possiblities are endless..)

Possible source of small & inexpensive graphical LCD's

Define "in the know". You have no idea what I do for a living... Max size screen I saw was 12.1"'s thats pretty small... it'd be a challenge to find a 12.1" screen new today anyway (excluding ebay), 1024x768 or not. Be cheaper/easier to buy one already fab'd /w controller and powersupply...

Possible source of small & inexpensive graphical LCD's

I don't know what you consider "high res" but the best I saw on there was 800x600. And For the size/resolution of those displays you might as well buy one pre-made in an enclousure /w power supply/controller for $100-150 dollars. A 12.1" 800x600 ananlog LCD can be had pretty cheap now...

    Dell’s UltraSharp 2005FPW widescreen 20-inch LCD monitor.

welp, been lurking these forums forever. I finally caved and purchased a 2005FPW myself. I received a A01 last week. No blacklight issues, however I had 6-7 stuck/dead pixels. :( So, I called dell to start a swap process and it was anything but enjoyable. 1st customer rep. hardly...
