Ok, this is weird. I just got a 5850. I hook everything up, and when i boot it turns on but motherboard beeps "power error" and the screen won't turn on.
I have a mushkin 550watt. Spare me the "mushkin isn't top quality" i know. The point is, each 12v rail has 20amps.

Ok, i was one of the people who bought an original 8800 and like magic, it died exactly when nvidia knew it would so hopefully i'd be conned into buying the new overhyped 400 series.
I had the 8800 watercooled 100% of its life, YET, nvidia's plan could not be changed and my card died right...
