So MSRP on a 9070XT with a 10% tariff is $660 plus local sales tax is going to push the price to over $700. Since there's no reference cards coming directly from AMD you have to add the AIB custom cooler/BIOS overhead so I'm going to assume that the average price is going to hover around $850 -...
The measurements deBauer recorded in this video are insane! How does Nvidia design a connector that's pushing so much power through just 1 or 2 of the 12 available pins? 150 degrees celsius on the PSU side and 23 amps measured on just 1 small cable. The gauge of that wire isn't enough to...
The Asus ROG Astral air cooled card is now over $3k! That's a $280 increase. Seems to line up with the new American tariffs on Chinese imports.

I'm still scratching my head how Nvidia sets a release date of January 30th and a major computer retailer like Microcenter gets less than 250 RTX 5090 for all of North America! That's insane to me.
I just checked several MicroCenters and none are showing RTX 5090s as "coming soon" only 5080s. They might not have any on hand for tomorrow's release!
Here's a review confirming the insane price Asus is charging for their top end 5090! ($2799)

Might have to sit this one out!
There's no way that Asus can justify an additional $800 for their cooler. The card is capped at 600 watts so there's minimal overclocking potential. They're actually selling their cards at scalper prices right off rip! Incredible!
I'm thinking about the heat output of a 14900K/5090 build. 250 watts for the CPU and 575 for the GPU. That's a lot of heat getting dumped into my home office.
I'm waiting to see the real performance numbers related to the 5000 series before I decide to buy. I'm not a big fan of frame generation (at least the way it's being implemented currently). I usually end up disabling it because it's causing problems.
This game's been delayed multiple times (for understandable reasons) so I don't get why they finally decide to push it out the door with so many bugs. I've really been looking forward to this but I don't want to play it day one if it's this janky.
I just finished this and I have to admit, excluding the one poorly written companion that triggered a ton of hate, the overall game was really good. The last few hours are some of the best dark fantasy action I've experienced in a really long time. That one decision to force DEI components into...
The benefit is smaller than something like an Intel 285K since the 9800x3d has so much L3 cache but faster memory will definitely improve performance when the CPU is accessing data off system RAM.
I put together a new build with a 9800x3d and a Gigabyte x870E AORUS Master board. I paired that with a set of G.Skill DDR5 8400 memory modules. Using the XMP profile the system is not stable. Hopefully future AGESA releases will help stabilize higher timings. I was able to manually tweak the...
I'm wondering what happened with this game. I feel that it was rushed out the door. The in game characters have no eye animations. They all have that deer in the headlights death stare look to them. The cut scenes are laughably bad. I'm going to assume that the cutscenes were manually animated...
Probably not relevant to this thread but I installed Jedi Survivor on my Xbox Series X (via Gamepass) and it runs perfectly. Good visuals and a solid 60fps.
I downloaded the patch and played for a bit. While the game does run a bit better this patch is not the holy grail. The typical traversal stutter is still here and as bad as ever. Since most games using UE4 have these issues I don't think it'll ever be fixed.
I agree that the majority of Star Wars fans want to see Jedi Knights in games but there are other stories to tell. Look at the movie Roque One for example. That was the story of how the Republic (or the Resistance) got the plans for the Death Star which they used to destroy it during the movie...
I finished the main story quests last night. IMO this was a really well done Star Wars game. Yes it has bugs and yes some of the choices made were head scratchers but at the end of the day Massive did some impressive world building here. If you're a fan of the original movie trilogy you're going...
I put 4 hours into this game and so far it's really good. Very high production value. Doesn't feel like a typical open world UbiSoft game. For anyone on the fence I'll say it's definitely worth a try. Sub to UbiSoft+ and check it out.
I paid $20 for UbiSoft+ and I'm playing the game right now. So far it seems OK. I should be able to play through the entire game and cancel the subscription before the 30 days ends.
