Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Have you tried removing the card and playing videos through the integrated gpu? That might help isolate if the amd gpu is actually the problem and not some setting.
Hmm. Either buy it on wii u and play at 20fps, buy the switch and play at 720p and 30fps or wait a bit and play it at proper resolutions and framerates... Hmmm...
Might be able to remove the plastic slot, cut it and put it back on. Some slots aren't really attached on anything other than the pins themselves (had such joy on a z87 sabertooth - the plastic slot came off together with the card...).
Mix and match works as long as cores are the same. Perhaps it's a weird bug you have, but it should work. I ran two different 660ti cards in sli and it worked well (one was the reference card and another one was a factory oc model).
I hope so. I have a 980ti and while it was a great card for 1080p @60hz it's not working out that well when I finally upgraded to a 1440p ultrawide. The 1080 is still not good enough for 1440p ultrawide @ 100hz and the titan xp is just crazy expensive. If the 1080ti is able to deliver that (50%...
Sure it's a lot, but it's a high-end gpu. If you have a high-res high-refresh rate screen a 1060 may not be enough. It's like asking "who the hell needs a Lamborghini when you can buy a Volkswagen".
Just to be clear - that is not my video. I did not make it nor the case. That video inspired me to build mine and gave good ideas on what to do and what not to do, but that is not my build.
With that out of the way - if you have a case that you like the look of and you know you can mod to fit...
I'm building my own case (have been for a while now) but most of my parts have been stamped/bent, some required manual work. Because of that, precision is not very good (sometimes around 1mm difference from the cad model). For motherboard mounting specs I just googled the ATX spec sheet - you...
Linus has a video up with some comparisons. Basically this is nearly the same as intel's cpus, but gives you more cores and a general bump in performance. No news on overclocking, but seems to be some good stuff (at stock speeds).
No need to get so aggressive. I didn't say they vomit. I said they get nauseous - dizzy. And no, they are not children. The person who can't play VR for any time is my fiancee, 26yo. She games quite a bit, but much less than I do. The person who can't even watch people play fps on tv is 24, my...
I know people who were nauseous after playing a demo where you walk around a house in less than a minute. I know someone who can't watch people play FPS games on a TV - they get sick. I got a headache when I had to play Asetto Corsa at ~30-40fps. It depends on the person, depends on the game -...
If it has the same amazing optimisation as the original fallout 4, I'd just avoid it. Since a small hiccup in framerate can make people puke while using VR, the random fps drops of fo4 will leave many lying on the floor in a puddle... I love fo4, but it's really quite bad when it comes to...
I have it on a 6700k and it's working well. Maybe not the best, but still very good and much better than something like a 212evo. You could also put two fans on it in push/pull if you need to.
Hope the price is right - I'd like to replace my 980ti. And yes, a Titan xp would have been a replacent but the price is ludicrous. Hopefully performance/price of the 1080ti vs titan xp will be the same as 980ti vs titan x was.
I have a cheap riser bought for less than 10 gbp and that looks like the one you linked to running a gtx970 - no issues or differences when compared to running mounted "properly". Try to avoid the right angle adapter, if possible. Less connections - less failure points.
There isn't that much you can do with laptop cooling - the biggest issue is always the very minimal amount of surface area of the heatsink. Replacing the tim may improve things a bit, but usually the airflow is not the problem - the small heatsink is. And, unless you can gut the thing and mod...
That's probably because anyone buying a higher-end tv actually has a proper sound system with a good receiver/amp with everything plugged into it. Don't know who would spend thousands on a tv and then live with the integrated tinny speakers... Also, the new oled craze is on thinner tv's and with...
You will probably run into an issue with the field of view. A lot of games have the horizontal FOV fixed - that means that you will still see as wide as you would with a single monitor. The downside is that because of your very wide resolution you will see a lot less on the top and the bottom. I...
You will probably have to delid or get a better cooler if you want to push it any further. Which test is it? Small fft? What are your temperatures under normal load? P95 may be pushing temps unrealistically too far.
The motors used in these fans have coils that are switched on and off depending on the position of the rotor. All that switching makes noise - heck, you can get coil whine in other components because of current switching - and they don't even have moving parts. While a maglev (or a similar...
Don't know what's "decent performance" for you, but at that resolution a gtx970 or equal would probably be the level to aim for decent performance. That level of performance does not come that cheap.
You can buy, for example, a NZXT Kraken G10 bracket and a compatible AIO cooler, slap it on and be done with it. The evga cooler you mentioned seems to only be compatible with reference design cards - not sure if the G1 gaming is one of those.
Well, depends on the cooler you use. You should be able to modify the cooler mount in such a way, that the cooler sits a bit lower than usual - lower by the thickness lost when you removed the IHS. Depending on the mounting type you may be able to use bolts and washers - hard to offer anything...
+1 for Kryonaut. It's up there (according to most tests) performance-wise, non-conductive. Wouldn't say it's easy to apply - the included spatula-like tips don't work for me. It seems to be too thick to spread easily with that rubber tip, but some harder tool(or the pea method) works well.
I'd go with two filtered intakes in the front, one filtered intake on the side. Two exhaust fans at the top and one in the back. Preferrably all 140mm. Then turn down the speed to your liking and check with something that emits smoke if you have a slightly positive pressure (the smoke will show...
You can't really make a decision now when none of the cards you want to upgrade to really exist. Hard to talk about things when they don't exist. 1080ti may never be released, vega may be worthless. Pricing is unknown. If your 980ti cards are holding you back then just get whatever is best when...
I wanted to say the same - had a friend kill two gtx970 cards in his pc that he uses in his truck - the vibration chewed through most of the contact pads on the pcie connector on the card. After switching to a pcie extender the problem went away.
I would also use an AIO cooler to have as little...
Mounted on top as exhaust would be better overall. You will get slightly worse cpu temps, but better gpu. Built a pc in a corsair 100r with a h100i set up as intake in the front and gpu temperatures are quite a bit higher than in a very similar build (same gpu, nearly same cpu) where the cpu...
Is it me or is there a huge hype train full of bubbles forming? Don't hear me wrong, I hope it doesn't fail, but there is a lot of hype while we have very little info.
Also, while a lot of people seem to be waiting for Ryzen and want to buy the cpus, more people seem to just want intel to lower...
Also, if I remember it correctly, behesda ...erm.. forgets sometimes to use compression for textures. There are many mods for fo4 that address that issue, some other mods manage to get higher res/quality textures while at the same time taking less space. Been the same with skyrim as well. It...
If you want a smaller chassis - go with the smaller one. Yes, when you have lots of space inside it it's easier to build the pc, but thats a day's work, max, the rest of the time it will just sit there on your desk (or under it). More space inside is great if you want to go with custom...
Ek vardar fans are quite good - check out some of the reviews online. I have a few vardar f2 fans and they do get loud-ish at full speed, but pretty much anything above 700rpm will be loud (depends on what you consider loud, though). The good thing is that their "loud" is less annoying than some...
I think hardware that looks good and performs well is like a car that not only has good performance, but also good looks. As in "it's not necessary, but it's nice to have". That said, the amount of RGBs is getting out of control and there need to be skus that are either all function over form or...
