i would suggest you start by disconnecting everything that isnt vital to it booting, ie external peripherals extra drives etc., at...
their drivers have been fine for years...
and you dont touch the frequency slider, it doesnt really do anything. just drop voltage and it will oc itself. start around -50mv. and the amd software does it better than AB now.
if your just trying to use a psu to power something, short the green wire and a black wire to power it up. you could use an old case power button to do what you want too.

i choose custom, unselect it all and get a "minimal" install, but not "driver only". driver only doesnt load the control software.

iirc it displays but doesnt log temps and can control the mac's fans properly. ive used it on 2014 mac minis an imacs, works good. also, if you are missing any drivers, look for "brigadier"
