Motorola Signature 27

The greatest bit is that it's actually coming to North America. Motorola has seemingly been afraid to release an honest-to-goodness flagship in the region for years (the Razr Ultra doesn't count); now we finally have a third major option for a high-end Android phone.

I'm most interested in how well that 200MP telephoto camera works. Hopefully lots of detail as well as cropping to go beyond the optical zoom.

Confirmed to support GrapheneOS!

While I was sad to see OnePlus exit North America, this is a spiritual successor. 6000mah si/c battery with 90w charging + true flagship specs. 7 years of updates, unlockable bootloader + GrapheneOS support and still having a physical SIM slot is the cherry on top. It's OnePlus+

I would take this over the Pixel 11 Pro XL all day every day! I have a feeling it will hold up pretty good against the Galaxy S27 phones too.

Yep, my 13R will be my last 1+.
I've owned a few Motos, I'm guessing my next phone will be one.

The Signature 27 is launching in the US in November as well, so you won't have to wait until the new year (in theory, at least).

The funny thing is realizing that it might do well simply by serving as the high-end Android flagship that isn't from Samsung (sorry, Google, Pixel phones are nice but not on the same spec level).

What I really want is a screamin fast cpu, +128GB storage, moderate memory, and nothing tf else. Maybe one camera, GPS optional. Battery life would be out of this world and it wouldn't get hot af, and it might not cost a fortune (yeah, right).

Unfortunately this ain't that. Does look beefy, though, and I do like a good sound system on a mobile.

Do you agree with this?
A.I. said It will have a quad-curved screen, which brings a handful of concerns.
Fragility & Cost: Exposed edge glass shatters easily on impact, and replacing curved panels is notably expensive.
Case Protection: Cases can't offer raised lip protection along the sides or corners without blocking swipe gestures.
Accidental Touches & Glare: Holding it in landscape mode triggers mis-touches, and ambient light creates glare lines across the bends.

Mostly agree. Curved will shatter easier than flat display and repair cost would be wild. Case protection to an extent won't protect the corners as good. I doubt there will be accidental touches, since that can be software controlled and this isn't Lenovorola's first rodeo on curved displays. But glare lines, yep!

TL;DW €1,594.90 (about $1773) for 12GB RAM / 512GB storage.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow. Very disappointing if true.

That's an EU price with VAT thrown in. The official US price is $1,599.

Still expensive, but you are getting a metric ton of features: Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 (please, Qualcomm, simplify), a 7,000mAh battery, a 12,000-nit (!) tandem OLED screen, top-shelf cameras that include a 200MP telephoto, and 512GB of storage. GrapheneOS support, too. I really want to see how it handles in real life.

More importantly, Motorola has smart timing: it's shipping to the US on November 26, or likely at least a couple of months before Samsung ships the Galaxy S27. I'm sure the S27 will overshadow the Signature 27 for most buyers due to brand recognition and ecosystem, but the enthusiasts who want the best and fastest can buy right now. As some have said, Motorola is effectively the new OnePlus in the States.

Been looking forward to this device but at $1,600, it's a hard pass. I will watch to see if I can pick one up for $1,000-1,200 eventually. I would like to degoogle but am not in a hurry to do so. Also in no hurry to replace my S24 Ultra.

Looks good, but my edge is rendered useless because of some fucking motorola pop up to run an update that fails. $800 dusted. I'm not sure I want to risk $1,600 when they write programs like that. But if its rootable, its probably going to run cooler than the Pixel. OnePlus is out of business now so limited options for rootable androids.
