It's only recently started happening, so I know it's not an issue with my cable.
I asked AI but its suggestions were mixture of ineffective , inaccurate or too risky (changing regedit values)
The only change I have made recently was installing the latest AMD GPU drivers 26.9.2
I have two monitors hooked up , and both of them are 120hz
For some reason , monitor number two , which is my primary monitor that I game on keeps reverting back to 60hz when I boot up
I can immediately tell because of how sluggish the mouse pointer movement feels
My power settings are set to performance and I do not have variable refresh rate enabled.
I don't see any settings in the AMD Adrenalin app that would be causing this to happen.
This is on a desktop PC so battery settings aren't applicable.

Can anybody give me some suggestions on how to solve this?

Two suggestions I would try:

Check Device Manager. Under "Monitors", does it list the actual model of your monitor or does it just list it as a "Generic" monitor? If the later, you might see if you can find and install a monitor driver for your display. Windows Update will usually find and install monitor drivers for you, although sometimes they are listed under optional updates. Otherwise check your monitor manufacturer's website.

You might try enabling Freesync/Adaptive-Sync/VRR, assuming that the monitor supports it. Even if you feel that you don't need it, there is really no downside, and since it deals directly with refresh rate, I think it's worth a shot.

Also, are they 4K monitors? If so, you might be running into bandwidth restrictions, especially if you are also using 10 bit color. If you have a CPU with integrated video, you might try moving your secondary display over to the motherboard video output to help split the load in that regard.

Yes windows shows it as generic monitor (LG TV SSCR2)
I have the LG OLED 48CX
When I go into the settings menu on my t.V.It says the latest drivers are installed on the TV, but since windows lists it only as a generic.Maybe the one the driver's on my computer need updating?
When I had windows search for updated drivers , it could not find any so I will look at downloading them directly from LG
But how can I get windows to recognize the monitor so it's not just listing it as generic?

When I tried enabling VRR in my windows display settings, the screen just kept flashing endlessly

Yes I have two monitors and both of them are four k one hundred and twenty hertz

My GPU is the AMD 9070XT

I did not start having this problem until I updated my AMD drivers
I've since updated to the more recent AMD current driver , but i'm still having the same problem

It makes me think that the problem is not with windows. But with what the latest AMD 26.10.1 drivers have done
