I can hear it now at some car dealership--'yep I'm selling my car because I have this great deal on a video card!'

Should I offer him MSRP? I couldn't even find what that would be.

Rare card, I'm sure, but NV1 was a little less rare.
Still I wonder if 4MB made a difference on that card? Possibly the only one in existence.

Ah man, Mag Innovision... memories
Yep, bad memories here though as their Trinitron version of their award winning monitor was nothing short of horrible. We ended up using it in 640x480 for a point of sale system versus the 1024x768 flagship for our build. We went with a Nanoa T2-17 on the next build and that monitor is absolutely beautiful. Too bad Nanoa cheaped out when Eizo bought them and the Eizo models we got after, 10 something 17" and 4x 22" all ended up with some sort of issue where they won't fully power on anymore. :( I'm sure it's easily fixable by someone with the knowledge and since I have all the original monitor boxes, maybe I will ship them out to be fixed one day when they're worth their weight in [pick your item of value]...

I remember back in this era, memory helped for color depth in just regular usage. Not sure how it helped in any accelerator functions, but definitely wouldn't have hurt.

Some games would use higher quality textures with more VRAM. However the NV1 didn't really do that well for most games because it used quadrilaterals instead of triangles. Basically sprites stretched and rotated in space. Neat idea, the Sega Saturn did the same thing, but there's some real limitations on it, and since the rest of the market went tringles it didn't work well.
