My very beloved S95C died about a month ago - no power. Got it for a steal of $1100 on FB Marketplace in 2024. Panel had a little less than 800 hours at the time of purchase.

Tried getting a replacement one connect box, still no go.

I can't remember the total hours on the TV but it was a lot, like 8 hours on a usual day for 2.5 years.

I saw a great deal in Hot Deals for 77" Sony Bravia 8 for $1598 and $200 for the Asurion 2 year warranty via Amazon.

After looking watching this TV it has me second guessing my decision.

My question is, should I cancel this order and look at another type of panel instead? Sony 8 is already up to $2000 again. I LOVED my S95C for the QD-OLED color pop and inky blacks, but I dont want to get it if its just going to throttle my brightness here in a couple of years.

I'd also like some suggestions for other panel types for my use case. (love brightness color pop, inky blacks)

One connect boxes are a major problem. Had to replace my mother's frame tv recently. Samsung only does wireless on3 connect boxes now for a reason.

I second the bravia, but you'll be sacrificing refresh rate a little bit. The bravia 8 ii if it goes on a deep sale os basically a better version of rhe s95h without the stupid coating. Only issue is 120hz cap.
