What is old is new again! Its like its 2015 again and nvidia having hairworks be on or off only while AMD could tweak the settings to get better performance.

I beat you to it.TechSpot ran some performance tests on the remaster and got some interesting results. They ran their tests in Novigrad and noted that performance was a better outside the city.
Looks like there's some sort of bottleneck with ray tracing and path tracing. PT tops out at about 60fps and RT just over 90. Performance is better outside Novigrad, but it's still bottlenecked to the point that 5090, 5080 and 5070Ti have basically the same performance at 1080p with PT on. For RT add the 9070XT to that list.
Just wait till they add the tessellation checkbox for AMD GPU'sWhat is old is new again! Its like its 2015 again and nvidia having hairworks be on or off only while AMD could tweak the settings to get better performance.
You try and compare a free upgrade with games that cost money?I really wish they remastered the movement. I'd argue that movement is more important than graphics in this case. The remaster provides a nice fresh coat of paint but Geralt remains stiff as a board. If the Tomb Raider I-III remasters can add modern controls and movement, I don't see why this can't.

I killed a few guys on horses and they just t-posed, frozen statues. Pretty funny.
Lets not pretend it cost you any money, so I will repeat the question:Let's not pretend that they gave us a free update purely out of the kindness of their hearts. Yes, it was a nice gesture. But these updates are being done for Songs of the Past which is very much not free.
Regardless of free or paid, they put in a lot of effort to remaster the game. So why not update both graphics and controls together for the complete package?
The icon is different in Galaxy.Bah, the only way I can tell which version is which in gog galaxy launcher is one is uninstalled and in its extras the dlc is organized differently. The one I have installed is still on 4.04 but wants to update. Its extras options has GOTY classic offline installers for download.
Both icons are labelled as Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Remastered.
Edit: On the current installed version 4.04, via manage installation you can swap via the "beta" channel option between disabled (I assume this means latest remaster version 5.00+) or next-gen or classic. Still no dedicated 4.04 installer though via offline installers.
Regardless that they are prepping for the new expansion it still a free substantial update. Pretty much every other company would have charged $50-60 for a remaster and put in less effort. Also the complete edition os always going on sale for under $15.Let's not pretend that they gave us a free update purely out of the kindness of their hearts. Yes, it was a nice gesture. From my galaxy launcher owned games list
I will have to check later tonight, but my GOTY copy still had the far left icon in your image last night. From my galaxy launcher owned games list

Also, I've found if under the configure option for the game, under beta channel options if you put the version to "next gen" it will download a 13mb file and then stay at version 4.04 and stop wanting to update to 5.00.
Lets not pretend it cost you any money, so I will repeat the question:
Did you just compare a free upgrade with "updates" costing money?
I think the movement option they added in the "next gen" update was fine. What is still wrong with it?To answer you more directly, yes, yes I did. A remaster is a remaster regardless of whether it's free or paid. I was simply throwing a critique out there that I'd prefer to have seen the movement remastered over all of these new graphics options.
let them know, give it some time, and theyll probably fix it..
also, amd dropped a driver update for it

GOG isn't showing a separate entry for the prior version anymore.

The download for 4.04b is gone, too, but "Classic" is still there.
View attachment 828834
They moved "Next Gen" to the Goodies section with Classic.

Apparently I have the installer for 4.04a saved, but I guess there were some additional smaller patches released. For those who were wondering, I see this in my account:

So that is 4.04a --> 4.04a_Launcher --> 4.04a_REDkit --> 4.04b
No full installer for 4.04a or 4.03 though.
Guh. I downloaded the entire 5.00 installer last night. Guess I'll need to keep watch for all the hotfix installers.Update 5.000.200 Released today
