Activision is making the next Halo

A statement from Activision president Rob Kostich regarding Halo:

I'm actually excited to see what they make. I haven't been excited to see a new Halo game for 15 years.

Halo Studios and 343 were terrible and it was clear they could never make a good Halo game from the very start with their first game which was a Halo CE remaster in 2011. They should have shut it down then instead of destroying a billion dollar franchise.
 
Like a lot of titles that were super innovative at one time, I'm not sure Halo ever translated to a present where other games already ran with what made it special. It'll always have some nostalgia power, but I don't know if it was ever going to be what it once was. This might at least give things a spark instead of just being Halo with a bunch of trendy mechanics tossed in. If things stayed as-is, I'm pretty certain the next Halo would have just been some kind of roguelike battle arena clone. Hell, it might still be but at least there's maybe some new blood involved.
 
I'd like to know who is part of the team being assembled to create the next Halo. From there I'll have a somewhat reasonable idea how the game will turn out. Could be surprised but who knows at this point.

Same. But I think it's safe to assume the game will be better than anything 343 has put out.

Although it would be hilarious if they made the team up of 343 people. That would be some next level trolling.

More hope than I've had in about the same time frame. I liked the series for the campaigns though, so they would need to about face on the story direction they've taken since 4 for my interest.
 
They seemed to finally re-figure out the multiplayer, with the last game (Not the CE Remake).

But otherwise.....Halo's singleplayer, and overall as a franchise, has floundered for years. Decades.

Activision can certainly make a videogame. And they are probably bored AF from making Call of Duty.

This doesn't feel good. But.....I do think there's a good chance it results in a good game. And maybe even a great one, if they actually take some time for pre-production on writing and planning.


**The big whatever though, is this game is likely only JUST starting pre-development. So, its gonna be years before it actually releases.
