TCL Ink Jet printed OLED monitors

Hopefully this one turns out good seeing that LG's RGB WOLED is pretty much a dud.

It is better. Tftcentral reviewed the LG UltraFine 32EP950 OLED Pro that used an inkjet printed panel over five years ago. Viewing angles and panel uniformity were excellent, unlike WOLED.

Then panel manufacturer JOLED never got their yields up and went into bankruptcy. CSOT acquired their technology and, to my understanding, they also use JOLED's old equipment to produce current panels.

I haven't been following those. What's the problem?

Viewing angles/off axis green tinting is somehow even worst than RGWB WOLED. Still has a little bit of near black chrominance overshoot despite no white subpixel. Panel uniformity sucks, especially on the Alienware ultrawide version. Color volume still cannot match QD OLED despite both now being RGB. Power consumption and brightness is now worst because the white subpixel is gone, 5th gen QD OLED clears it in brightness and efficiency. The only selling point it has at all is the fact that it is currently the only 4K RGB striped OLED but QD OLED has 4K RGB striped options coming out in about 6 months anyway. Sure, you could argue that it won't have any black level raise in a bright room unlike QD OLED, but the latest QD OLEDs with the "Black Shield" coating has pretty much solved this issue unless you are playing in a VERY bright room, in which case you are doing it wrong and should just get a Mini LED if that's your use case.

According to TFTC, a 27 inch 4K 240Hz version is planned. I'll be keeping an eye out for that one.
