• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

A new California law says all operating systems, including Linux, need to have some form of age verification at account setup

When it comes to "Do it or you can't use x service", eventually it'll be the service you need (Internet, whatever). The OS? I'll use an older OS until as long as I can, which will be until the internet stops allowing it access. I'm sure there will be alternatives and ways around it.

But, for the average user, I think there needs to be a standard place (DMV, whatever) that you can validate with and get a token. That token validates your age, nothing else. Rather than ever other company have the same info that's not needed and store it....
All I know is the harder they try to use technology against people, the more surprised they'll be when smarter people fight back. The problem isn't going to be Windows and MacOS complying, because they obviously will, but the amount of Windows 11 and MacOS machines that'll have stripped out the age verification ID. Since Linux is now excempt, just pretend that your Windows/MacOS machine is running Ubuntu Linux. They do this shit already on Android where if you root your device you're basically not allowed to run the app. I got bad news for banking apps.
