Just looking to upgrade from my Asus Stock someone in the comments said it was better than Stock. Plus I can place move it all over the place with that long of a cord.

So many years ago when I was trying to figure out signal for one of our hotels from inside a utility chase to the guest rooms, I quickly learned that the factory antennas are pretty good and only the 9db ones would create any marginal gain and the only way to get any real gain across the board was using one of these bad boys:

In the end, we found that more access points made more sense than antennas.
 
Anyone remember the pringles can cantennas? Those were fun to connect to random peoples wifi halfway across town.

Also 'better' is subjective. Unless yours is broken it is probably fine. Just wire to your router if you are wanting a long cord to your antenna.

And gain is going to mislead you. You are reshaping the emission not amplifying it. meaning you are going to trade sensitivity in some directions to focus it in others.
