That is asking a little much to give the DLC for free. There is a lot of work put into the remaster and stuff. If they were Eaw or Ubislop they would charge atleast $60 for the remake.

I think they might have put more work into the Witcher 3 remaster than the Songs of the Past DLC...all of this is one long hype train...Witcher 3 remaster builds towards Songs of the Past which leads into Witcher 4

They are giving away Hearts of Stone, and Blood and Wine for free... so.. who knows. Give it another 10 years and you might get this new expack for free too 
I can't imagine the 'remaster' adds much more than the 'next gen' update. Judging by the scrolling text of features various are things already in the next gen update (and even the shot used for 'new powers' in the trailer was a power that was already available in Blood & Wine). Guess it's something to generate some news leading to the release.
Either way I haven't played since Blood & Wine so excited to buy it.
Edit: oh, I didn't glean from the trailer that Blood & Wine and Hearts of Stone are becoming free for existing base game owners in that version, just checked news about it. Though tbh the GOTY version (which includes both expansions) has been the only version available to buy for many years (only owners who bought early would have the non-GOTY version).
Either way I haven't played since Blood & Wine so excited to buy it.

I read the first book, maybe I'll read the rest and play in 2027 when the expansion comes out
read all the books, re-play all the games and watch all the seasons of the Netflix series (the final Season 5 comes out in early 2027)
I'd rather redacted myself than watch that show. If there's a witcher 1 remake I'll wait for it. 2 was fine but I'll probably just read the books and play it. Maybe it'll line up with me neing unemployed like it did in 2015 since my field is genuinely dying.

While the free remastered upgrade is nice, I don't think I can do another playthrough of Witcher 3 because of my backlog. I'll probably only finish the new DLC with the remastered update.

The nextgen update made the game look great, so it will be interesting to see if this will improve it noticeably. Looking forward to the 3rd expansion.

Wow, that's very nice of them. I remember Gearbox gave away a free DLC to Borderlands 2, a very good one at that, to hype Borderlands 3, and it shows that some companies still remember that not being total assholes towards your customers can in fact build some kind of loyalty that may make you more monies in the long run.
