CPU contact frame worth it for Core Ultra 270K?

Starting my very first build in a few weeks.

I have an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K and an ASRock z890 Taichi mobo. I'm going with an AIO for cooling (haven't decided on one yet though).

Just wondering if a CPU contact frame would help any with temps? Or is that a thing of the past, and only useful for Raptor Lake CPUs?

Thanks

Contact frames are just good in general, but not needed unless you're having trouble with temps. I'm using one with mine and a 360 AIO, and temps are good. The TDJ is 105C, so it can handle some hotter temps, but I still like to keep mine no higher than 86C as a personal preference.

Anything that strengthens your mainboard's CPU socket for mounting cooling options is a good thing. After my experiences with the LGA 1700 platform, I am gonna do it anything I purchase wherever viable. A couple bucks for piece of mind and the possibility of better surface contact for the cold plate is good enough reason for me. I have seen too many mainboards buckle, unnaturally, to not do this if it's an option.

My Arctic AIO only works with the included contact frame. It literally cannot mount to a standard socket 1851 ILM... so I dunno, but this setup seems fine. That said I like this AIO. Instead of a bunch of stupid bling-bling shit like RGB or an LCD display the CPU end has a VRM cooling fan.

Thanks. Looks like I'll get a contact frame then.

Any difference between a Thermalright and a Thermal Grizzly? The Thermal Grizzly is about $40 more here in Canada.

Nope. All are pretty much the same, even the not very well known brands.
