Any single fan better than this, I want good 4k too?

ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 8GB Solo DLSS 3 8GB GDDR6 128-bit 17 Gbps PCIE 4.0 Super Compact Gaming Graphics Card, ZT-D40600G-10L

I want it to fit this case, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLXY7S4Y (I really wish they made a deeper one big enough for a 2 fa - missed op for a lan party sys)).

Also I know Nvidia does a 5060, but a vid. said that was a 1080 card & Nvidia doesn't do open source.

Also my CPU may burst into flames in it, I had it in a SG01 it was a little hot, my CPU temp was 190 F, linus tech tips said that was fine, I was like, ya sure it is.

A lot of confusion here; how is the 5060 a 1080 card and not the 4060? Both cards are capable of outputing 4k, but obviously gaming at 4k you're going to have to rely heavily on upscaling and lower IQ settings with both cards to play at 4k on any newer / more demanding games. And their drivers are not open source regardless of what card you're using.

190F/89C temps on CPU are def high, but will still run fine and will not boost/clock as high as it could at lower temps.

I have no recomendation for a small case like that, but I would just try to find the smallest you can get with the best air flow and can maybe accomodate at least an intake and exhaust fan.

There is a single fan 5070. Although, its not available in the U.S. market. People on the SFFPC reddit generally pay a large premium, to get a hold of one.

Just today, someone posted a build with the 5070:

Next best choice is probably the 9060 XT Reaper. Especially if you want "open source", etc. Its dual fan. But, its two slot and overall very small and compatible.

TPU reviewed the 8GB version. But, there is a 16GB version available.

Will that fit? Shoot The card is 202 mm the case is 184 mm

A. That Asus card you linked, is not a true 2 slot card. Be careful!! The Powercolor Reaper is true 2 slot.

B. I don't pay as much attention to these really small cases. But, there are probably some ~4 liter cases, which will fit cards larger than 184mm in length. (I suggest skimming around the SFFPC subreddit)

However......how much money you want to pay? >_>

I do know of a couple of cases which are ~5 liters:

These two will actually fit the Founder's Edition 4070/4070 Super/5070

And Midori 5

Looks like most of the ~ 4 liter cases, are designed around the LP 5060, which have the half width PCI bracket.

So, if you want a 9060 XT or even a 5070 FE: you may have to settle for ~ 5 liters.

And in my personal experience with varioius cases, a 1 liter difference is not going to matter at all, in terms of portability or fitting into a space. However, it does mean a much better GPU, in your situation.

Nvidia doesn't do open source.
In 2026, not doing open source is very rarely a thing anymore, outside limiting it to the most open MIT license level (which Nvidia do a lot). Nvidia is one of the biggest open source contributor and consumer in the world, with over 1,000 github repo maintained, you can find and use freely ton of Nvidia project: https://github.com/nvidia/cutlass

There is some closed blob in their drivers space but a lot of it is open source, say if you simply want to game on a common Linux distro it should be a non issue.

As for wanting 4k what do you mean by that, if you mean 4k output, all gpu will do this no problem outside some specific high frame rate scenarios, if you mean playing recent game in 4k native resolution... I would suggest rethink about it, if you really want good native 4k, the price would be really high and upscaling got really good.

I just have it already, a single fan Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB GDDR6 would be a cool find. Oh, had a new one in cart, the price makes more sense. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08X12YK8G?psc=1or a 8 Gig 4-60ti would be better, I have a single fan in my cart.
IMO, the smart choice is to get the 9060 XT Reaper, and get a slightly larger case. You'll still save money, compared to paying a huge premium for single fan cards.

Oh, I thought Nvidia didn't open source thier drivers, you still have to pick Propitiatory when installing linux.

It's maybe a bit confusing for someone not familiar with graphics subsystems on Linux. Nvidia has (had?) an open and a closed kernel driver, there was at one point a closed opengl driver (not sure if it still is used), and an open and closed xorg driver, as well as a binary blob for the features they couldn't or wont open up.

Most of the closed stuff is packaged together by nvidia, but they allow some distributions to...distribute it. Not sure about now, but used to be support in the open drivers lagged a few generations, mostly because there was only the reverse engineered nv driver for modesetting. I think nvidia supports development a bit more now, though.

Last I checked (been a long time) performance was good with the open stack, but not really comparable. I think it's improved a lot lately, though. Maybe check recent phoronix benchmarks.

They still have binaries blob mixed with open source in their drivers stack (like pretty much everyone), that different from Nvidia the company doing open source or not, Microsoft is one of the biggest open source contributor in world history and they host most of it, lot of what they do is still close.

AMD is still not totally binary blob free for their full firmware/drivers, but more of the stack is open (and importantly unlike Nvidia 100% of the userspace stack and kernel interface is open, only some part of the hardware firmware are closed, for code your cpu is not touching-running, for some of the gpu microcontrollers). (https://instinct.docs.amd.com/projects/system-acceptance/en/latest/common/firmware-updates.html)

To play game on a popular distribution by a regular user, it is not that big of a deal, Nvidia Linux driver are great now, but it is not necessarily as 100% seamless experience like AMD (Auto-install, auto-update, etc...).
