yea, 1star reviews are for the idiots to post their comments and have no value. Just for fun i looked up a simple ceramic coffee mug.

I panned the latest Superman (the pre cursor movie to this year's Supergirl) and being possibly one of the 10 worst movies ever made. Yet, for reasons unknown, a lot of people like the movie??? I just figured they're from Krypton.I once sent a negative review on a product and was then blocked from sending reviews at all. Wasn't nearly as nasty as the examples above, just me politely explaining why I disliked something (it was something like the movie Aliens 4 or Avatar which I thought sucked...)
This was like 15 years ago, I just remember it because I tried to get Amazon to explain why I can't review stuff anymore and they never replied. I've not used Amazon in the past 10 years, so no big loss, the website was getting annoying to use anyways...
Yep, I pay more attention to the 3 star reviews as they seem to be more fairThe problem is a lot of times 1 star reviews are hyperbolic and often not very useful. People are just mad and what you get isn't really all that useful. I find the reviews in the middle to be far more enlightening about actually using the product. A mid review on it will usually go into more detail about the pros and cons of whatever it is.
Similarly, 5 star reviews are usually just fluff from happy people that have had the thing a day. 1 star reviews are often written by people that should have done more research.
EDIT: To be clear, I don't like them hiding reviews at all. Its up to the reader to determine their validity.
