Thanks for reading my topic.
I have purchased a WD HD Purple 2 TB.
In HD label has model name , firmware version, serial number , World Wide Name and manufactured date.
Unhappily when running some softwares ( HDAT2 , GParted and GSmartControl ) are showed others informations not similar as the HD label.
SMART attributes are for :
- serial number WDC-ROM SN# XYZ
- World Wide Name "0-000000-00000000"
Please see the screenshots below.

Model name is same value as the label being WD20PURX-89G3VY0.
However the more strange detail is HDAT2 and others software report that HD is 2.5 TB !
HDAT2 surface test result is HD is exactly 2.5 TB , label is only 2 TB.

Please you having a WD HD Purple 2 TB or other model of Purple family reply me :
- in label is 2 TB and in use is exactly 2.5 TB ? If yes why the label use a wrong value ?
- in your HD reading the SMART attributes serial number is showed as "WDC-ROM SN# XYZ" and World Wide Name "0-000000-00000000" ?
Please if your HD SMART are exactly the same as the HD label not need post here the values. Only reply saying if the information in label is exactly as reported by SMART.

Other detail is label is written "For Intergrator System Only". Strange is as if that HD not is for market direct to users, but for PC companies.
I want understand if that HD is false or really a legitime WD HD Purple.

Thanks for any information.
Have a nice week.

Did you purchase it from a WD authorized dealer (meaning not aliexpress/ebay/amazon or facebook marketplace etc?) The part number you posted is 2TB, It sounds like you bought an OEM sku'd drive from the System Integrator label. Can you post a complete SMART or smartctl or hdparm interrogation report?

Thanks for your reply.
I have bought from mercadolivre. The HD label is System Integrator.
See the screenshots

2.28TiB works out to 2.5 TB ( 2^40 vs 10^12) which is essentially what the two screenshots say. WD Specs say it should be 2.0, so something doesn't match. Usually scam drives report as larger than they actually are, not smaller. Could be flaked firmware, could be rebranded something else.... Run the WDC utilities and do a long test, see if it passes all the checks.

Per WDC spec sheet, it has 3,907,029,168 512 byte sectors, which should be 2.0!
