Unfortunately our 4.5 year old Sony Bravia died last night. All troubleshooting recommendations led to the same conclusion, bad main board not the backlight. We need stay in the 55” size so price seems reasonable for Hisense, some Sony models and other brands like TCL and Insignia.
Probably be at Best Buy by the time anyone responds lol.
 
got a 65" hisense that is also on 5years and working fine.

My 55" hisense (Hisense 55-Inch Class R6 Series Dolby Vision HDR 4K UHD Roku Smart TV with Alexa Compatibility (55R6G, 2021 Model) I only got 4 years out of but only was $240 when I bought it. So can't be too mad at that price.
 
Thanks. Wife fell in love with Samsung ‘25 model new in box. Top of budget but not over. It’s important that it looks good to her more than me, her eyes are starting to fail her a little. Funny thing is we got a Samsung in 21 just before the Sony and could not get the picture right. Deep blacks that had no contrast and every thing was too dark so swapped for the Sony. Her sight was way better then. New Sammy looks great by comparison. Our first large lcd was a Sammy too and still works fine in the bedroom. That was a 50” in 2015 or so. Still tinkering with the new one ………
 
Just check the specs first as with all models/brands - but no problems with my one Hisense unit, a 50U6G I bought 5 years ago - also still getting firmware updates (April of this year was most recent)

Edit: oh you went Samsung, as long as you like it that's what matters - but for me no Dolby Vision = 👎
 
Comes down to panel quality, HDR and if it is true HDR, backlight vs all the others and things like Judder features (make those larger panning scenic shots smooth vs "juddery"..
 
I just wanted say the wife is extremely satisfied with the picture on day one. Also our BB only had 1 Hisense box set up and I thought the picture was great compared to all the more expensive brands, but it was set up in a narrow aisle and was 75”. You couldn’t step back far enough to get a feel what it might look like in our house. I thought why are we getting a puny 55. But back at home it’s the correct size for our medium size family room.
