MicroCenter AMD combos. CPU, MB and ram from $350 to $900.

Yup, they have been going those for awhile now, and no they don't ship deals. It's only convenient for those who live near one. Fortunately, the one in KC is less than 10 min from me.

We will see posts from the whiners next who don't live near one.

An hour away from the Baltimore location... tempting ..... hopefully they'll raise the prices so there is no temptation

The "holiday" extras are "over", that is, the ability to upgrade to 64GB for $400 more. Still...the deals are probably the best out there if doing a full mb, cpu and mem upgrade. Effective price on that 32GB is just USD $200, which is just impossible today. And yes, if "far away", you'll have to figure out if it's still "a deal" for you.

I used to have a friend pick up my order and reship. I still saved a fortune. He moved, whine, whine, whine.

I’m luckily about an hour from 5 locations so have taken advantage of the combos many a time to build a personal rig or one for friends / family.

If anyone on the forum needs a mule would gladly oblige as long as any tolls / shipping is accounted for.

I'm 1.5 hours from the Santa clara store. It's not worth the drive for one combo. If I go, I'd bring a few friends and have them each get one.

I have a forum friend who can get it for me from his MN store.

I beg people who live near these places- keep buying from them. I hate that all the local PC shops I’ve lived near closed down. You don’t miss it until it’s gone

Truth. Lost another good one many years ago that I used to buy from.

Sick deal, just picked up this for $699. Of course now I need more RAM and it's a billion $

AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D
ASUS X870-P Prime WiFi AM5
G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit
Buy another one, keep the ram if the board has enough slots, sell the rest. I bet it would be cheaper than buying more ram.

It's kinda true nowadays. You end up getting the DDR5 RAM for the sane price. And I do mean to spell it as SANE, as in before the price blew up at the end of 2025 (I got a Microcenter about a 40 min drive from where I live in PA, near Philly, so it's all good. Been using them for about 6-7 years now.
But ALSO, it's fucking nothing like what Jayz2centz shows in his videos, their shit is all locked up, and when you buy something, you need to get a piece of paper from the salesguy on the floor, who then would set your sale up at the actual checkout counter, you can't just freely walk around with a cart full of pc-parts, UNLIKE IN THE JAYZ2CENTZ fucking bullshit blissful youtube clips, when he goes to buy parts.

Holy shit, MC jacked the prices on all of their combos through the roof! This combo is now $1,095! I hope this is some sort of error because I wanted to pick up a combo later this week when I head down to Denver.

Let us know when you go in store in denver if those combos are actually still in stock at $699.

Newegg's 9800/9850 combos all popped up to the $1000+ mark a week ago.

I was buying my "combo" a month ago, and the lines were huge at the Dallas Microcenter. However, a month before that, I bought my GPU and it was pretty empty.

Talking with some there, seems the whole "no more Nvidia GPUs" rumor was a big part of it. People trying to snag a 5080 at an insanely bad price, before super insane hit.

Still $699 on the NJ store.
Yes, the Dallas store still has (in stock)

AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D, ASUS X870-P Prime WiFi AM5, G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit, Computer Build Bundle $699.99 (more than 25 in stock)

In today's strange new world of pricing, it's not horrible. Of course. for $550, might want to get more reliability with a 9700X combo and put the savings toward GPU (?), depends on what type of "gamer" you are.

Still available at MC Sharonville OH for reasonable prices.

Then there is this bargain in today’s market for a starter/ budget build

We had 2 Fry's and 2 Best Buy's near me. Fry's everywhere are gone. Used to be at least 1 CompUSA and a Circuit City, too, many years ago.
Microcenter is not hurting for business. They cram their small footprint with nearly as much as Fry's used to have in their giant warehouses. Fry's here always seemed low on stock, too, not like the left coast stores.

Fly out to the right coast.

Threadripper seems like a ripoff. I could probably build 3X x 16 core / 64GB Non-ECC systems for that amount. I'm obviously not the target market:
