Prototypes are really interesting in my humble opinion. The N64 is awesome.

"We showcase an ULTRA RARE (pun intended) Ultra 64 controller. Before Nintendo switched to the name Nintendo 64, their 64-bit machine was known as the Ultra 64. Thanks to Shane Battye, we're showing off the controller as well as an Ultra 64 development environment."

Omg this was the first time I truly ever nerded on tech stuff. I think I was 10 or 11. I knew ALL about this console (at least whatever Nintendo Power "reported" ). There was supposed to be an optical drive at one point and a 3D version of Final Fantasy that had never been released. I'm one of the few who have never really appreciated the N64 because of those changes they made towards the hardware development. (they gutted a lot if I remember correctly)

Anyone remember the Goldeneye mode where you could use one controller in each hand (so dual analog sticks)? That was the best.

I also really loved the Ultra 64 name, but I understand why they changed it.
