I just upgraded this past week, from a FX-8350 to Ryzen 5 2600. Even got a M.2 SSD for the OS
and the games I play most often (aka Metro Exodus). I replaced the CPU, motherboard and got
some DDR4 3000.
While using the FX I noticed that in certain places in the Exodus game the display would freeze for
maybe .5 sec or less, GPU fps in Afterburner would drop 10-20 frames lower (CPU usage dropped too)
then all was well again for maybe the rest of the playing session (1-2 hours)
Does the same thing with the Ryzen set up as well.
both the FX and the Ryzen system had / have the same GTX 970 card
playing at 1080p @ 60hz
Is it the software, CPU or 970 causing the intermittent freezing?
