Main Rig
Ryzen 5 2600
32GB DDR4
MSI B450 tomahawk
1TB Nvme
1 500 WD BK (archival mostly)
XFX RX 580 8GB
Fractal Define R case
650w SS PSU
Still rocking my old PLP setup 2x Dell WP2007 & Dell U3011
Either good enough monoprice cans or $20 BT party speaker for sound (i know...i know smh lol)

My main rig for my side jobs, web, YT, Gaming. Most of my games lib is single player/mgmt type (cities / Tomb Raider / subnautica / ONI are some recents and typical) rarely do any FPS or MP. Game performance matters for the type I play, but I'll take eye candy over frames

>Not sure what improvements could be made here.
>I'm considering 30"+ Ultrawide screen and a second 27", but not sure if its for me. Might just do 40" 4k TV. probably use the 30" for sim rig or as a secondary.
>Sound sucks direct from PC not sure what would improve it. thought about just doing a sound bar.

VR/Sim Rig
i7 2600
H60
32gb DDR3
XFX RX580 8GB
R0 a couple of older 256 GB SSDs and 1 TB spinner
TX 750 PSU
Older corsair full Tower
65" 1080 HDTV and full HT sound
Rift CV1 room scale 3 sensor

So right now this living room for VR only, but I'd like to downsize it to be semi portable between Living Room & office where my sim rig is located. I have MATX & ITX boards for this chip laying around. I don't really tax the CPU or RAM. GPU seems fine, but might be worth investing in an upgrade along with 1TB SSD?
I VR on average 1-2x a week for 3-6hrs.
> GPU upgrade worthwhile? 5700? XT? 2060 super?
> smaller case would prefer not to have to buy an SFX PSU. TU150? SG13?

Any advice, recommendations, shit I missed, trying to avoid dumb shit upgrades or wasting cash.

Well if it were me, I would upgrade main rig to 3600 ryzen, $190, then shift the 2600 to the gaming rig, then an am4 itx $100, 16gbddr4 $60 and a m.2 nvme ssd like inland pro $110. All this assuming you need more bang on primary workstation. Keep in mind you get a bonus being able to have m.2 and wifi on your itx build which I am not sure if z77 boards had this or not.

For a GPU the 1080ti used is still a better value than a 5700 and will right now get you higher frames in vr.

For cases Evga had the Hadron air bstock for $60 recently and is a good small case with 500w ps. Alternatively if you want more console shape the Silverstone raven cases are nice too. Also note a lot of itx cases have limitations on cooler height.
