It used to be really expensive and the speed was too low to do anything fun. Has this changed? I am getting ready to fly United to the Philippines.

I imagine it is quite the engineering challenge to get fast internet when you are in an airplane flying at 500 mph over the ocean.

Not sure about internationally but it's usually anywhere from $6-8 per flight, or you can get a day pass for $15 or something like that. I fly Delta and this is usually what I see.

United was 21 bones on my last transpacific flight...

That being said, their media library was fantastic. Between that and the bottomless glass of bourbon, I could have skipped wifi, lol.

Greetings from the Philippines.

I watched 3 movies flying over the Pacific. Finally got to see infinity war. Yeah, had no need for wifi, tons of good movies and TV.

I just use Emirates wifi for chat and low bandwidth stuff but it seems lately they really cheaped out to force 2hrs max international, so get a Mac spoofer or dont lose the logout window..

I don't fly a lot, but have a couple of times the last few years, most recently being in February. I didn't pay for wi-fi, but I was just trying to access the free in-flight movies, and the internal website was so slow as to be nearly unusable, and I never could get the movies to show. This was on American Airlines.
