Cyrix 5x86-133GP/4X, boxed, absolutely rare

I saw that.. There was one in a lot of "scrap" a while ago that I am still kicking myself for not grabbing.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I only have a couple different Cyrix 5x86 - 120.

I had a p166+ Cyrix and it sucked for games, but it was a perfect productivity CPU.

The Cyrix 5x86 120 and 133's were basically 486 CPU's with some Pentium features added into the mix. They used 486 motherboards. The 6x86 PR166+ was a different animal. It was a Pentium alternative which borrowed somethings like its branch prediction from the Pentium Pro's design. It was a good CPU, but it had a weak FPU. I had a PR200+ back then because I couldn't afford a Pentium 166MHz or 200MHz CPU. My Cyrix 6x86 PR200+ was only about as good as a Pentium 120MHz or 133MHz CPU in games.

I miss having Cyrix around. At one time they did innovate and make some pretty good alternatives to the Pentium. The problem is that game developers built everything for Intel CPU's and everyone else had either no dedicated FPU, or a bad one comparatively. NexGen Systems (no FPU at first) and AMD's K5 CPU's suffered similarly.
