Would suspect either the router or laptop just developed a problem. Or your neighborhood has reached WiFi saturation due to too many gizmos with radios. If a neighbor just got an ISP provided WiFi modem, could be it is masking your signal. A lot of those actually contain two APs. One for the end user and one for the 'any ISP customer can use WiFi network'. At some point, there aren't enough open channels.

I really hate that these companies are doing that. Another reason to get your own modem and router.
