Recording with 2 cams

My friend and me want to record us both when we play some of our games. Both of us have a webcam and i know abit about Obs and video rendering/tools and how to record my self.

How do we record both of us playing a game. so we can see each other in the webcam in 2 frames at the same time.
Just like they do on youtube when you see both of some people play together and have ther own frames in the top or lower corner.

2 ways come to mind:

1. recording each camera and then combining the two in post after its done to create a new file. All the work and time is spent after the game is done to add graphics and text, etc. This would need a separate video editor like Adoboe Premier or movie maker, etc.
2. mixing them live requires a live feed editing software like https://www.vmix.com/ or OBS https://obsproject.com/ and Xsplit https://www.xsplit.com. you can capture multiple sources (ie both webcams) and then combine into one video feed and then save to file or stream out to something else like youtube or twitch.
