Had Updates set to pause for 30 days to avoid potential problems but what I didn't know was that the 1809 update 2nd release still had the original date so my computer downloaded and installed the update almost right away upon re-release. I have an extensive i-Tunes library (175,000 + songs, 12,600 albums) and store a back-up copy of the artwork not available from Apple on a storage drive. This file consists of almost 6000 album cover pictures. Due to a bug in the re-release all 6000 pictures were renamed the same thing (Artist - Title (1), Artist - Title (2), etc, etc, etc)
Does anyone know how I can get the original names to repopulate as correctly renaming all 6000 would really be a major Pain-In-The-Ass????????
Thank God I store a back-up of the music on an unconnected external drive!!!!!!

Roll back and uninstall 1809. Also, set the feature update to 365 days once you do that.

Tried rollback already, but it did not change-back the file names.
I have also increased feature update time already.

Anyone else have any ideas?????
Apart from the obvious? Restore the titles from the backup. To avoid this from happening again, switch OSes.

Linux has pretty powerful tools for batch renaming but even they can't associate a fake rename to an original title.

Might be a good time to use something (anything) better than iTunes to manage a large music collection.

No problem with i-tunes at all. Only way I can get music to my i-Phone.
The files that Windows update screwed with was a back-up of "album cover artwork" that was not available from Apple.
i-Tunes actually has been very good lately and believe it or not I have submitted feedback to Apple at least a half dozen times in the last year and every time within a couple weeks they have issued an update that has addressed my feedback/problems. Can't ask for much more than that!

The Microsoft Store install works great. Im actually presently surprised with how well it works.
