Want to build a gaming rig during the holiday season.

I will be salvaging parts from my old build that I will be handing over to family.

Parts that I will keep will be:

1080ti
2 SSD
1 HDD
Possibly ram

Parts that I will need:

9700k
Mobo
Modular PSU
Air cooler
Case

Right now I am thinking of these parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Lwh6xG

I'm having trouble with the mobo and the case. I want a reliable mobo that can overclock the 9700 but won't break the bank. I also want a case with really good air flow that can accommodate a large cooler like the noctua D15.

Any recommendations?

I would go with a 2700X build for a gaming rig.

with the 9700K the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra and ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming seem to get good reviews...

Um why would you go 2700X instead of a 8700K or the 9700K....I am interested in your point of view..
I think that he's getting the point that going Intel means paying much, much more money - in some cases, hundreds of dollars more - for just a (relatively speaking) minuscule increase in minimum and average gaming frame rates.
