Just picked up an Asus PG27UQ and I LOVE it! I am wondering what are the best overall settings to use?

I have Win10 set to allow HDR content and streams. Can't seem to get Netflix to stream 4k HDR though...not sure what that is about.

How about your OSD settings? I'm running it at 98Hz to maintain 10bit color. Any other tweaks or tips?

Do you have the latest firmware on your 1080 Ti? Make sure you turn "HDR and WCG" on in the Windows Display Settings when you want to play HDR content. Be aware that it is normal for their to be input lag and UI flashing for about a minute after turning this setting on.

In the OSD, go to System Setup, scroll down and turn ECO Mode off.

I also run mine at 98 Hz and 10-bit for full chroma. In the NVIDIA control panel I also have color management set to Windows.

Other than that, the factory calibration looked perfect to me so I haven't messed around with it. I just turn the brightness down to 20 for desktop use and put it back up to 80 for SDR media with the variable backlight on. For HDR games I float the reference white point in the OSD between 90 and 110 depending on the game and how well it calibrates. For HDR video I turn white point in the OSD back down to 80 as it seems like contrast is uniformly best in everything I've watched so far. Sustained peak brightness on this monitor dictates white point should be best set to 100, but HDR mastering isn't consistent between different media.

Great reply!! How would I know what the latest vBios is for my cards? Is there a better vBios I should run?

The vBios my cards are reporting is:

Card 1 = 86.02.39.00.AS04
Card 2 = 86.02.39.00.AS08

AS08 is the silent BIOS and AS04 is the original. In SLI it's probably more appropriate to flash the AS04 BIOS from ASUS onto the second card.

NVIDIA released a BIOS that updates the DisplayPort firmware and it's supposedly needed for the PG27UQ and X27 to get optimal performance. I don't know if it can or should be applied to AIB cards, though. Supposedly it only touches the DP firmware and nothing else. May want to contact ASUS just to be sure.

Thank you so much!! Weird how one of my cards has the silent bios lol

The update isn't needed technically. It's just that without it you won't get anything to display to a displayport 1.4 monitor until you get into Windows and the nvidia driver loads.

I didn't know exactly what it does. In my case I updated the firmware on my Titan X before I got the PG27UQ, so I wouldn't be able to tell you what my experience was.

Yeah, I didn't do it on my old 1080ti when I got my X27 and had a WTF moment when I had a black screen until windows fully loaded.

I updated the displayport firmware on both of my 1080Ti's using the nvidia utility, it worked perfectly!

Are your cards still performing the same otherwise? Is 4K Netflix working for you now?

If I'm not mistaken, you need to play Netflix through the UWP version (Windows Store App) to get 4K.

My cards are working perfectly. I still can't get 4k Netflix to stream though, no idea why. I am using the UWP app to stream. It's very confusing as to why it's not working. I've been playing HDR movies using MPC-HC + MadVR just fine.

Okay, 4K HDR on Netflix isn't working for me in the W10 app, but it is through the web using Edge. Make sure you have playback set to high in your account settings. And, of course, you need the Premium plan.
