Google Will Continue Hiding "WWW" but Not "M" in Chrome 70

Unless they change how it's handling it, it's a security risk. Last I saw, the way it works is it looks at the URL and hides any instance of [www.]. There's a difference between www.pool.ntp.org and pool.ntp.org for example. The first goes to a webpage about the pool; the second tries to connect to a random NTP server in the pool. Apparently clicking the address bar will expand out the whole thing. But honestly this change is obfuscation under the guise of 'improved user experience.' What exactly the improvement is, I am unsure.

To display the full URL, go to chrome://flags/#omnibox-ui-hide-steady-state-url-scheme-and-subdomains and toggle the setting "Omnibox UI Hide Steady-State URL Scheme and Trivial Subdomains" to Disabled. Voila, the full URL is restored.

That's good that there is at least a way to disable it. I don't actually use Chrome, I stay away from anything Google. They need to stop being so evil, and even then I still wouldn't trust them.
