If you have Amazon Treasure Truck availability in your city, the HyperX Cloud Alpha Headset is making the rounds today for $70. You can read our full gaming review here. If you can deal with the cords, it is a great value for music, TV, and gaming at $70.

The Dual Chamber Driver technology is not a marketing gimmick, it very much works and works well when it comes to delivering a sound experience that does not muddy up when you are presented with a lot of different sounds at once be those in gaming, music, or movies. There is no doubt that many will find excellent value in the Cloud Alpha at $100. It will simply come down to whether or not the Cloud Alpha ticks all the checkboxes that you need it to.

I am looking into wireless myself, possibly sound degradation yes but convience, since I can't kill our cat this is my next best option. Any good options recommended, I am no audiophile due to 45 years of construction but still want good sound?

Isn't the Treasure truck like an icecream truck just with Amazon goodies?

Ordered a set. my Turtle Beaches apparently have developed static in the mic that drives all my friends crazy. Good timing on this deal, hope they work well!

Thanks for the heads up. I'm currently using the Hyper X Cloud 2 that I got on amazon day for $30 shipped, but they are normally same price as the alpha. Does anyone know what are the specific differences between the two? I keep hearing good things about the Alpha and debating if I should go ahead and just get a pair. Thanks

That was a hell of a deal. Never saw any deals even approaching that good. Prime required?

Personally I tried the Cloud, Cloud 2 and Cloud Pro. I though the integrated sound card in the Cloud 2 was awful and had many crackling sounds. Paid $63 total for my Cloud and have been happy.

This is a great deal, but I can't imagine it is worth upgrading to. I know when my Cloud dies I'll be looking into this if it is still around. I know there are better sounding head phones out there, but these are very comfortable.

Amazon treasure truck??
You don't know about the Treasure Truck?

Went and got my set last night, very impressed so far. The feel of the headset and the sound quality is superb.

I just looked at my invoice for that order to refresh my memory so that I wasn't completely lying to everyone and not even knowing it, but the headset was one of the daily deals on Prime day this year. Sometimes you really have to search for these items as they don't always make them super noticeable but anyways I looked at all the deals of the day and it started at 10am on prime day and lasted all day. And it was originally $99, then $49 off for prime day, and if you had prime and checked your email roughly a week before prime day they had a link for you to click on to give you $20 off any item (or $20 off your total shopping cart, as long as the items you were purchasing were Amazon prime compatible. The coupon was only to use on or before prime day). So my total was $30 and some change, but after looking at this browser add-on I have (Honey browser add-on) that shows the prices of any item on Amazon for the past 2 years, I actually could have bought them a week later and payed less than $10 for them....doh. But I still got a nice deal on them. Amazon prime day was the 16th of July and the lowest price point they've ever been at was $30.23 on July 27th. Sorry for the long post, but were you using your headset on a PC with the 7.1 USB surround sound add-on/extension cable with buttons on the actual cable? or were these for use with an Xbox 1 or PS4? I highly recommend downloading the "Honey browser add on" for Firefox or Chrome or it might be for other browsers as well but when you visit amazon.com it shows a button directly under the price of an item and shows you whats the lowest price this item has ever been, as well as finding you the lowest price of that item at that exact moment by giving you choices of all the sellers that have that item for the lowest price, also can be used on other websites by finding a promo code for any website you may be ordering something from to save you the most money possible at any given time. (I promise I don't work for them nor am I getting paid to say this haha, I just recently found Honey and have been using it any time I'm looking at a deal on Amazon)
