The game developers over a Crytek have been working hard at bringing new content to Hunt Showdown. In a new video released today they discussed the content additions and how those work. The devs also directly address camping in the game as well and why they nerfed bunny-hopping. The low end weapons have also been scaled up so that new players have a better chance at survival in the game.

A lot of us have been playing on the Hunt Showdown Test Servers, which went offline as I was typing this. We should see these new changes rolled into the active game servers soon.

One thing that was not discussed in the video was that Crytek found a bug in the game's HUD overlay. The fixes applied to the HUD have greatly improved performance for many people. Crytek also did roll out a performance patch a few weeks ago. Between these two changes, a lot more folks will now be able to have a very good Hunt Showdown experience on lesser machines. The game is now in what I would consider a beta phase, available in Early Release on Steam. It is $30 and one of the best co-op gaming experiences I have had in a very long time.

Check out the video.

We take a look at the new content of patch 1 with David West our Senior System Designer and Dennis Schwarz our Lead Designer. You’ll be able to see all the highlights of the new patch as well as the and how!

Good changes, some will be difficult for the players that are always looking for the easy way / exploits and base winning off of that, some will be difficult for us scrubs that don’t stream and play 40 hrs a week - so a great combination of fixes. I really like that this hasn’t turned into a PUBG type game, you can still get into matches and have a good time but it doesn’t feel overwhelmingly loaded. I am sad about the silenced pistol :( I use it a lot, but it’s accurate. A subsonic round with a freaking oil filter strapped to the barrel should be pretty low impact hahaha. They should add a few more melee weapons I think, maybe a poleaxe or a uhm mace would be cool. Something with high rending or smashing damage, but slow to swing and recover. That would be nice for tight spaces against players. I don’t often fight players, but when I do, I like to win!

I haven't played this in a few patches, I need to fire it back up.

They have not rolled this out to the current live servers yet. I will let you guys know when they do. We have been playing on test servers for a couple of weeks now with the patches. Perf is much better. I was running 4K resolution with High settings and getting 30 to 60 fps, and SLI is not working yet.

shouldnt that read.. the servers went down, forcing me to do something else.. so here is a story ??

;>)
Hehe, well, they kick out announcements via Discord. :)

@here Hunters, Test servers are now down. Thank you all very much for all your support and feedback. Your effort has and continually will, help the game take shape through it's journey towards release. We look forward to your feedback on the live server.

Yeah, I've become a fps snob so the old version I played was bothering my fps OCD.
Yeah, I will suggest that as well, although it was playable to a certain extent. I run 2600P now at high with blur turned off at 60fps solid.
